Went for a couples treatment thinking the hotel spa would be a good standard so worth the extra fee for the experience.

The Deep Tissue massage was great husband was very happy with his treatment.

Unfortunately the treatment advertised as Relaxing Hot Herbal Compress was a cold oil massage with 10 minutes of heat pack’s applied to my upper back at the start of the treatment, certainly didn’t leave my circulation improved. I’d highly advise that this treatment is not worth considering.

Well, on our 4th day in Chiangmai we wanted to treat ourselves to a quality Spa with a quality massage and have a great atmosphere! We almost made it, a wonderful 90 min massage, here comes the flop..... we were rushed off to our change room after the massage!! First time in 20 years I had my masseuse help me put on my robe while still on the bed and then told no shower and that they had other guess coming! We asked for a shower to remove oils and finish the relaxing process that we paid very expensive rates for Chiangmai! We were allowed a 3 min shower together to shorten the time they DIDN’T ALLOW when we booked. I can not stress that this is not how a top quality Spa is to operate!

Turns out there are plenty of high end Spa’s in Chiangmai that will give you better and professional services! I would think hard if booking here!

On top of insult they offered a discount and after getting to front lobby to find out we were just offered a promo that was going on anyway! This was not disclosed during the original booking! Again, I would think long and hard to trust the staff here at this Spa!

I do not recommend Chi Spa. First of all, you can get a better massage for less outside the Hotel. The masseuse who massaged me was lazy, I told her that I wanted hand pressure and not too much finger pressure and then she was inconsistent. She would keep a soft pressure and then hard all of a sudden. Then again and again. She barely massaged my feet and legs. She was focused more on my back bones rather than my muscles. When she sprayed the oil, I got some on my face. Very Rude! My mother who got a more expensive massage didn't get what she paid for. They do not go over the 1 hour massage; when they say 1 hour, YOU get 1 hour including the feet washing. We got a really great massage at "Let's Relax" and the ladies there will actually treat you better! We complained to the Hotel and they addressed the issue immediately and offered us a complimentary big van ride to the airport on our last day. We preferred that than a partial refund.

My wife and I booked the hotel's honeymoon package which included a 60 minute Thai massage each which we scheduled our treatment for our first day.

Walking into the spa's lobby was more of a wow than walking into the hotel. The facilities were luxurious and tranquil, staff were attentive, and the therapists were amazing.

I would highly recommend a treatment here for a special occasion or a personal splurge.

First off, we were rushed off after our massage and only reluctantly allowed to take a shower after the massage. Still rushed mind you. When we complained, given slight discount but discount was actually a promotion we were not told abt wen we booked. We found out later abt the promotion. Quite the big fraud in Chiang Mai.

I live in Chiang Mai so I'm always on the lookout for spa specials. Yesterday I had the combination Coconut Body Scrub and Thai massage at Chi Spa. The spa itself is quite beautiful and tastefully decorated to provide maximum relaxation. Each customer has their own changing room/shower and treatment room. The treatment itself was very relaxing. The only quibble I had was with the temperature of the rooms. I noticed right away that the changing room was chilly. My mistake was not mentioning that right away. Same with the treatment room. When I asked that the room be made warmer, I was told that the individual rooms did not have their own remote controls. In other words, there was nothing the masseuse could do about it. When it was time for me to shower off the body scrub, she did turn off the AC in the shower room, which helped. I ended up with 3 thick towels on me in the treatment room. Normally in Chiang Mai I prefer all the AC I can get, but this was a little too cold for me. Having said that, I'd still go back because everything else about the treatment was so good.

We like it so much my wife and I went twice to Chi the Spa during our stay at the Shangri La and returned to the spa during our layover in Chiang Mai. This is in spite of the countless number of spas available in town.
Each treatment room is a small "Villa" of its own with a courtyard, a changing room with shower and toilet, and a separate treatment room complete with outdoor bath tub and shower. Utter privacy.
The spa menu is not overwhelming but comprehensive enough to offer just about any treatment you want. The therapists are well trained and will spoil you. You're offered a tea (hot or cold) and a Thai cracker after your treatment.
The spa manager (Ms Nuttaya) and the receptionist (Ms Tip) will make you feel like family. We can't wait to go back.
