I've done quite abit of research before I chose to sign up for the cooking class conducted by Silana. From the reviews I gathered many of the cooking schools are conducted in big groups and all.
The environment of the kitchen is really nice and clean. Our instructor is a talented young chef who is nice, friendly and helpful. I like the fact that we all have to cook our own dishes instead of doing it in groups or pairs. There was only 3 of us in the class which is nice too so it's not so noisy and all.
We cooked 4 Thai dishes which we really like. If we had more days, we will definitely sign up for another class. Maybe just 1 suggestion. The school may consider replacing one of the dishes with dessert instead. :)
Definitely a must do if u are in Chiang Mai

Beginning with the market tour, you know you are dealing with professionals who love what they do. Great explanation of Thai market and different herbs and spices and general Thai life at the market
The cooking class itself is taught with patience and care in explaining steps. The cooking stations are clean, modern and the implements are impeccable.
Great way to learn

This is a long due review of my experience sometime back in october of 2019.
Chef/Host spoke perfect english.
The experience began with the driver picking us up at the hotel in the morning. We met our chef at the market, and he gave a personal tour of the local market + sampling of the local snacks.
After that, we went to his kitchen, where we are given a close up demonstrations before we were given the time to do our own.
There is no shortcut involved, we all pounded the spices ourselves and completed the dishes, which were surprisingly pretty easy to cook!
We had a lovely time participating in the activity followed by our self-cooked lunch. The activities were well organized and i would truly recommend this experience to all.
The good people at Silana have also gave me a few hard copies of the recipe, which i am so thankful for, as i had used them to recreate the easy to prepare dishes just last week, thus remembering that i have yet to give them a review.
Hope you good people stay strong through this pandemic and continue to share your joy for cooking once the world reopens (:

It was definitely one of the highlights of our trip. From the market to the kitchen, we were blown away by the authentic and modern touch. The hosts were simply the sweetest. We learned to make so many Thai dishes which we were able to enjoy. The next day we went to the market to purchase a wok! Though this location is a little outside of the city, we were able to embrace the suburban neighbourhood that Northern Thailand has to offer! When we return, we will be coming on a different day to learn to cook the remaining dishes!

I got to visit Silana Cooking school with couple of my friends and enjoyed it so much!
I'm going to list why you should visit Silana
1. Chef and the staff were so welcoming
2. You get to learn 4 different dishes!
3. Everything was shown step by step.
4. You suck at cooking? So did I! Until I took a class as Silana! Now I can make these meals with ease!
5. Do you love taking pictures? This place was so beautiful! Inside AND out!
I would say this was a big highlight of my trip!
I would recommend to anyone who's looking for a cooking school to visit!

A must try cooking class activity in Chiangmai Thailand. The Chef teacher is very good and very funny speaks English well. The Facility is very modern and comfortable i love how everything is Clean and their kitchen is so convenient you got your own station and at the same time you wont get bored or feel alone as your facing your cooking classmate to laugh and chat while cooking, the staff are very helpful and attentive to your needs. Overall i its a excellent experienced learning Thai dish specially my fav Khaosoi dish and spring rolls. at the end of the class you all eat together of whatever you cooked in a nice long dining table and share all of what you learned to cooked and fun cooking experienced. I highly recommend Silana Cooking Class as your part of daily activity when visiting ChiangMai Thailand.

Never picked us up and never heard from them. Do not loose your money. No more to write, and if booked through Klook beware, you cannot call them either.
