I was surprised to see so many visitors on a Friday morning, parking was full and I got just about the last space. One tends to compare this temple to Doi Suthep, but it is just very different. The fact that it is possible to drive all the way up makes it somewhat more accessible. It is somewhat less known... More

If you visited Doi Suthep, the very famous temple, please go to that site to post your review on TripAdvisor. For Doi Kham, please read on. (I have submitted changes to TripAdvisor to correct this listing.) Literally means “Temple of the Golden Mountain,” this temple is perched on Doi Kham hill, surrounded by beautiful mountainous landscapes. This ancient temple has... More

Nice night view and great mood. Middle of way to go to temple. There are some view points to see the great view of Chiangmai city. It was so great to be there but many mosquitoes.

It's very beatiful place. From here you can see all the city. There is a terrace where you can seat and meditate.

Okay, so there are two Wat Phra That Dois... Suthep and Kham! For whatever reason, TripAdvisor has them at the same place on the map but that is incorrect! Suthep is the wat with a million steps and tourists and is northwest of the old city. This one, Kham, is located southwest of the old city. Check Google maps, because... More

Once you get past all the hawking happening at the bottom of the steps it is a breathtaking outing. Be watchful of the darling little girls in traditional garb wanting money to take photos- and be sure to know that they expect to be paid. telling them how darling they are will not suffice. Also, they have been known to... More

This is a lovely temple with magnificent views. My favorite were the wood carvings and the stairs with dragon like banisters. Definitely worth going there.

The baby laughing buddha statue is a bit misleading, but this is the temple you can see from the city that's way up on the mountain. We went around sunset and it was the perfect time. We were even fortunate enough to catch a late afternoon prayer service led by the monks living in the nearby monastery.
