This is an amazing museum about Chiang Mai's history and culture. It opened in 1999. Their web sit is a bit hi-tech quirky.

Judging by the negative reviews, seems like some people are not interested in the history and culture of the places they visit. I think the centre is well worth a visit if you like learning about such things. The ticket you buy also entitles you...More

Some rooms were ok, but over all we felt like there were to many videos to watch that seemed quite outdated. Kids were bored and we didn’t really find that we stayed for long in the rooms. Shame, as we were expecting more.

The building is pleasant and some effort has been put into the museum and displays. There’s a focus on history and culture. I left learning very little and overall experience was so dull. I wouldn’t bother unless you have a more specialized interest in this...More

In addition, the resting area near the coffee shop, facing the center garden plaza is very good. It is a best place to relax your tired legs.

This was the third museum of the trio on the Lanna heritage. It was quite large, although a lot of the rooms were closed for some reason. Even so, we saw quite a bit and learned more about Chiang Mai culture.
