- Emma F11 contributionsA wonderful Thai massage experience - would highly recommend! My boyfriend and I had a traditional Thai massage with therapists Job and Pin. The staff were extremely welcoming, offering us welcome drinks and refreshing towels whilst we filled out our questionnaire. Job and Pin then washed our feet before we headed to the massage room. Job and Pin did a fantastic job of the massage, felt like a new woman when I left! They were attentive and gentle and did an amazing job of stretching us out!! The experience was completed with complimentary ginger tea and rice cakes - we had a really wonderful time and would recommend to anyone looking for a Thai massage experience in Chiang Mai!Visited October 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 5 October 2023
- MollySanta Cruz, California16 contributionsExceptional spa - Masseuse Tar is THE BEST!I can't recommend this Fah Lanna enough (I went 4 times during my 6 day stay)...it's been one of the top 3 highlights during my three weeks in Thailand. It's truly a stunning spa. From their relaxing ambiance, to the great customer service, to the thorough questionnaire, to the welcome and departing drinks - it's all really lovely and well put together. As with any spa you go to, it's all about the massage therapist. I'm deeply thankful that I was connected with Tar at the Nimman Branch. She's truly the best masseuse I've encountered. She's strong, intuitive, and focused. I came to Fah Lanna with a variety of tight muscles (neck, traps, lats, lower back, glutes) and without any further explanation beyond the brief questionnaire, Tar found each spot in my body. Her ability to isolate muscles and work out the tension is unparalleled. I tried the bamboo massage, thai massage, and head/back/shoulder massage. For me and my body, the thai and head/back/shoulder was exactly what I needed (the bamboo was good also and an interesting experience that I wouldn't find back in the states). The stretching of the thai massage was really something. My partner who also saw Tar got the thai and hot oil massage and loved those as well. We both like hard/intense pressure massages and she certainly brought it (though was mindful in checking in periodically about her pressure). Do yourself a favor and check out Fah Lanna. Make sure to ask for Tar - you'll be SO glad you did!Visited November 2023Travelled soloWritten 30 November 2023
- AnnieBobs88 contributionsWonderfull!Wonderfull experience. Booked a head, shoulder and back massage. Was a delight! What i liked was the fact that i had to fill in a form at the beginning, where i could highlight my preferences. That made me feel really comfortable. Everything felt very professional. Starting with a welcome drink, and ended with hot tea and cookies. Everything looks amazing. Wod recommend this!Visited January 2024Travelled soloWritten 8 January 2024
- Xuan w.Hong Kong, China3 contributionsI really recommend this place!!I had the Spa package and got Ochin as the therapist. I had a headache and didn't feel great before the treatment, but l became so relaxed and better after the 2 hours treatment. It was an experience for all the 5 senses. The sounds, feelings, sights - even the tea before and after was magical. I really recommend this place for a truly great spa experience!Visited February 2024Travelled soloWritten 21 February 2024
- PugHuggerAdelaide, Australia5,986 contributionsExcellent Spa ExperienceMy sister and I went to Chiang Mai and visited a spa daily. We went to all three Fah Lanna chains and experienced multiple treatments. While we also sampled four other spas, Fah Lanna was easily the best in terms of atmosphere and the skill of the therapists. We sampled a number of treatments including the Herbal Balm Massage, Aromatherapy Massage, Cream Massage, scrub, facial and foot massage. All were lovely and skillfully attended to. The pre-treatment tea was cold and refreshing and the post treatment snacks delightful. While this review is under Old Town, I also want to specifically thank the Nimman Team. We went to Nimman two hours before our appointment hoping we could be accommodated early (we were not enjoying the shopping as much as we had hoped in the area). The team were able to accommodate us and we are very grateful! The only downside is at opening time (12 noon) the reception area does feel a bit more chaotic than a spa of this calibre should, I would recommend booking your treatment from 12:30pm onwards to avoid this initial flurry of activity. All three chains have skilled therapists. Visually I prefer Old Town and Nimman to Night Bazaar but would happily return to any branch.Visited February 2024Travelled with friendsWritten 3 March 2024

He has excellent techniques and massages weight very well. This is a Thai massage that combines yoga. It has stretching. I really like it. The staff are very accommodating and friendly. I also like that they serve a welcome drink while waiting for your massage and warm tea after your massage. Perfect experience.Thank you for your fantastic review! I've been to this spa several times and it really is one of the best in Chiang Mai.
The service is impeccable, from the minute the (English speaking) driver collects you from your place.
The reception staff are very professional and welcoming and there are additional hygiene measures to protect against COVID-19.
The spa decor highlights Chiang Mai traditional style with a modern twist.
But the massage therapists are what makes this spa stand out: I've visited several times and have never had a bad massage.
The therapists are charming and polite and really ensure they work on specific areas of tension or pain.
This is not one of those paint-by-numbers massages where they just follow a set routine. The ladies really personalize the massage for you individual problem areas.
The massage package I chose (Traveler's Retreat) is really excellent value for money and I've recommended it to several friends.

My boyfriend and I did a 90 minute traditional Thai massage and it was beyond relaxing and we felt like new people after. It is more expensive than other massage parlours we walked by, but the spa is absolutely beautiful, and the masseuses were kind and professional, and compared to western prices still a huge deal. Highly recommend !

To celebrate our son’s graduation, we booked, s couple days ahead, a room for 15 people at 5:30. They took the booking enthusiastically. We’ve eaten there before and knew they had a space that would suit our party well. We finished ordering by 5:45 or so. It was nearly a half an hour before any food arrived and the last entre arrived at 7:25! Not once during our wait were we even offered fresh beverages much less any sort of explanation. The food is simple and nothing special. My hamburger, ordered for simplicities sake, looked and tasted as if it had been cooked in the microwave. The rest of the food was, as usual, ordinary and overpriced. While paying the $185 bill, I was offered no apology but rather a lame excuse about how they cooked the dishes one at a time and one cook etc, as if they didn’t know we were coming! Terrible service, even by Thai standards :-(

I had high hopes for a wonderful experience, but it was simply OK. I booked a 1 hour head, shoulder and back massage ($900 THB) with a 30 minute add on Thai massage ($350 THB). This was a splurge for me and was to be one of the highlights of my trip. The massage was fine, not great. I had expected to have far more time focusing on my head than the 5 or so minutes that I received. Nice grounds, lovely gracious staff, but I’ve had just as good a massage at a fraction of the cost.

I can't recommend this Fah Lanna enough (I went 4 times during my 6 day stay)...it's been one of the top 3 highlights during my three weeks in Thailand.
Make sure to ask for Tar - you'll be SO glad you did!

I started by visiting the fah lannan spa in Manmo, and it was so great that I got an Instant Booking at the fah lanna spa in Old Town, where you can massage for 3 hours the next day. Very friendly and the techniques of the massage therapist were very satisfied.
The wisdom course was a very stylish, first-time massage and very new.
If you want an emotional experience with foreign countries, I recommend taking a Recommendation.
Thank you again to BOW for carefully caring.

Hi~
I have pregnancy for 25 weeks now,
What kind message can I choose?
Thank you
Written 18 September 2018
Hello Youji Huang,
Thank you for your interest in our spa and thank you for your question. This will be useful for many ladies who are also pregnant, so we will answer by giving you more information for all stages during the pregnancy.
For treatments during pregnancy, it very much depends on how far along you are pregnant and whether or not you will be comfortable lying down or if you would be more comfortable sitting in a chair, especially during the last trimester.
Please note: A Reflexology Foot Massage, Aromatherapy Oil Massage or Traditional Thai Massage should strictly be avoided during all stages of the pregnancy but there are a number of other things you can enjoy.
During the first trimester:
During the first three months of your pregnancy any form of massage is not suitable but we can pamper you with a Five Step Facial Treatment, a Manicure & Pedicure, an Exfoliating Foot Scrub or Body Waxing.
After the first trimester:
From 4h month of pregnancy onwards, you may also enjoy the Five Step Facial Treatment, a Manicure & Pedicure, an Exfoliating Foot Scrub or Body Waxing as well an Aloe Vera Body Massage, a Moisturising Cream Massage, an Exfoliating Foot Scrub, and a Body Mask.
Please always discuss what you're comfortable with, considering that you might not be comfortable lying on your stomach or even lying flat on a bed for a long period of time. Treatments may be possible to be adjusted accordingly or be performed in a chair.
We hope this information is useful and we are happy to answer any other question. The best way to make a reservation is through our website.
We are looking forward to welcoming you.
Warm regards from your Fah Lanna Spa Team

Is there a cafe/restaurant onsite where we can grab quick bite before treatment?
Written 8 September 2018
Dear Meiss. Thank you for your question. We have a Cafe & Restaurant onsite at our branch in the Old City, serving Thai and International food, cakes, snacks, desserts etc for breakfast, lunch and dinner. It is called Fahtara Coffee and it is open from 8 am to 9 pm. You can arrange the hotel pick up earlier to visit the cafe first before you have your spa treatment. We strongly recommend making a reservation at the spa in advance through our website.
Best regards from the Fah Lanna Spa Team

Thank you very much for your message. All of the treatments and the prices are listed on our website which is linked in our TripAdvisor profile.
The hot oil massage is 1,400 Baht per hour, so two hours cost 2,800 Baht.
For the foot treatment, so you mean our 2 hour Fah Lanna Foot Treatment package which consists of an Exfoliating Foot Scrub followed by a Reflexology Foot Massage? The price is 1,600 Baht for this package.
Thank you very much. Our team is looking forward to welcoming you.

Hello,
I wanted to inquire a few questions. First of all, I was wondering in in any packages hair breading with flowers are included?
and are there in any packages complementary drinks or snacks included or everything one needs to buy separately?
Written 17 September 2017
Hello Mante.
Thank you for your inquiry. We do not have any kind of services to do hair braiding or other services for hair.
At our spa in the old city we serve a complimentary home made herbal welcome drink with a refreshing cool towel when you arrive at the spa and a hot ginger tea with light snack after your massage. If you take a longer treatment, there is an additional plate of one of the most popular Thai Desserts: Mango with sticky rice.
We also have an on-site Cafe and Restaurant serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. We have Thai and International food and a large selection of vegetarian food. However, food and drink at the Cafe is not free.
We hope to welcome you to our spa.
With warm regards from your Fah Lanna Spa Team

What do you charge for a Brazilian wax?
Written 20 July 2017
Hello, we have two branches in Chiang Mai. Our smaller Massage Shop by the night bazaar and the bigger Spa in the old city.
The Massage Shop is a regular massage shop with just six beds: Four beds in a Thai Massage room separated by curtains and two private single rooms. We have one shared bathroom with a shower in the shop. There is no shuttle service for the massage shop to pick you up or drop you off.
Our spa is much bigger and has more facilities. We have a wider variety of massages and packages available and also a herbal steam cave. Rooms have en suite toilets and showers and all rooms are private. Thai Massage rooms can accommodate up to 4 people, rooms with raised massage beds for other treatments are for two people. For the spa we offer a free shuttle service within Chiang Mai City and will pick you up from your hotel (or elsewhere in the city) and drop you off after you completed your treatments.
The price structure for the Massage Shop and the Spa is different. You can view the spa menu on our website (we are not allowed to post weblinks in this answer but the link to our website is on the Tripadvisor page at the top) and select 'Fah Lanna Menu' and then select either the spa or the massage shop from the submenu. All prices are inclusive of tax and the final end prices.
For Brazilian wax we charge 1,500 Baht at our spa in the old city and 1,100 Baht at the Massage Shop by the Night Bazaar.

Dear bestspaava,
thank you for your interest in our treatments and packages. You can find all details about the packages on our website (sorry, TripAdvisor does not allow direct links in this text but the link to the website is on our TripAdvisor page at the top). Simply select Fah Lanna Menu and then visit the menu for our two branches: The Massage Shop by the night bazaar, our smaller branch with lower prices, or the Spa in the Old City, our bigger and more upmarket branch.
If you have any more specific questions, you can always email us (the link to the email is also on the page at the top).
Warm regards from your Fah Lanna Team

What is the difference in locations? It looks as though the Night Bazaar is cheaper. The photos will not load on their website so wondering if paying double the cost is worth going to the Old City location. Has anyone seen both? Thanks!

Dear Saraburristravels,
Thank you for your question. It will actually help many other travellers who are wondering. We are happy to provide you with some more details:
We have two branches in Chiang Mai:
At our spa in the Old City we also have a Cafe with a beautiful garden setting, offering cakes, snacks, coffee, tea, shakes and a full menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner offering Thai and International dishes.
The price structure for the Massage Shop and the Spa is different. You can view the spa menu on our website and select 'Fah Lanna Menu' and then select either the spa or the massage shop from the submenu. All prices are inclusive of tax and the final end prices.
There is more information available about the facilities at both of our branches on our booking page on our website. This is also the best way to make a reservation, as it ensures that we will have all the necessary information from you.
Please feel free to email us should you have any further questions.
With warm regards from your Fah Lanna Team
