Visited them in 2012 and promised to be back, so this time I had my mum with me who is 59. We climbed on Crazy Horse and we did the Caving tour. The staff and the place never stops to amaze me and they took...More
We booked transportation with Chiang Mai Rock Climbing and rented gear from them. It was so well managed and everything was in fantastic shape. Along with transportation they also provide a hot lunch and drinking water. The crag is in very good condition and most...More
We used the transport that CMRCA offers from Chiang Mai to the crag (Crazy Horse).
We also had the provided lunch, that we all found to be good.
Thanks to CMRCA bringing us to the crag, and bringing both food and water, we had to...More

CMRCA is a pretty incredible company. We were really impressed by the level of knowledge our guide had about rock climbing, cave repelling and the general Thailand rock climbing scene in general. The crag at Crazy Horse in very well maintained with bathrooms, shaded areas,...More

Thanks a lot for making climbing in Chiang Mai such an enjoyable experience.

Great organization! I've been climbing for 36 out of my 52 years. My partner and I were able to rent a rope and feel good about it. They took us to the crag on time and fed us a great lunch (vegetarian optional). Bolts are...More

i stayed at a hostel right next to the chiang mai gate at a placed called my house tour and hostel. the loction is great as it is close to a daily food market near the chiang mai gate and it is within the square (make sure to visit mrs. pai and her smoothies there). however, it is a hostel and if it is busy, the room can get quite crowded as it rooms 18 people. but its only $5 USD. the place is clean and the staff is great though. i also stayed at BB hotel which is close to the east gate and you get your own room with AC with a shared bathroom and things are clean as well.
i think 5 days is good. if the timing works, you can also check out the saturday market and sunday market which are both within walking distance. also if you want a thai massage, the womens correctional service is a good one and an experience! but make sure to show up first thing when they open as they get booked up for 9 the day really quick. then theres the temples around the city and also doi suthep on top of the hill just outside the city which is also very pretty.
hope you have a great time in CM! i love it there and its one of my favourite places.
