My boyfriend and I spent a day out at the crazy horse rock climbing area with G and Buz from CMRCA and had such a good time! We are both in our early 20's and are reasonably adventurous and fit. We had never been rock climbing before but felt completely safe the whole time. They took us to the beginners... More

Having taken the Introductory Rock Climbing Course previously a few years back in 2012, we signed up for the Introduction to Caving Course this time. Oh my goodness, it was fun! I will say, it isn't for everyone. I would also only recommend if you are athletic/fit and don't have fear of heights or the dark (which I guess goes... More

The Team at Chiang Mai Climbing Adventures is one of the best outdoor adventure companies I've ever worked with. Josh (the owner) has worked for over two decades developing crags in Northern Thailand and knows the area better than anyone else. You can tell that careful consideration and time has been put into creating a strong climbing community around the... More

I loved the rock climbing at Crazy Horse! CMRCA (Chiang Mai Rock Climbing Adventures) has put an amazing amount of effort and dedication into making this climbing area comfortable and safe. There are so many excellent routes. The paths and belay areas are clean and well maintained. The CMRCA climbing guides are all certified and very experienced and super nice... More

There are 2 aspects to the climbing in Chiang Mai; CMRCA and the climbing area itself. CMRCA is well run and very efficient whether you are a visiting climber or on a course. The shop itself is well laid out with a decent training area to the rear and a well stocked shop on the street side. Staff were helpful... More

2017 is the third year in a row that I have visited Chiang-Mai. I have made this my annual pilgrimage to the "land of smiles" because of an incredible infrastructure-The Crazy Horse crag. This place have something for everyone- doesn't matter if you are a beginner or a grade 7 cruncher, or maybe you are the adventurous type that likes... More

CMRCA has been operating for nearly 20 years, and the company is almost solely responsible for the development of Crazy Horse Buttress, the training of Thai staff members to international standards, and the creation of a tight-knit climbing community. They deserve full credit for putting Chiang Mai on the map for climbers while operating with the highest ethical standards with... More

I have been going to Crazy Horse as often as possible for going on eight years now. Throughout that time I have had multiple great climbing experiences both through CMRCA and the wider climbing community. I would rank Crazy Horse as one of the best developed crags I have been to throughout the world. There may be other climbing areas... More

My first trip to Chiang mai was like 15 years ago when the glue on the bolts was barely dry and there were maybe 20 routes to climb. CRMCA was just set up and barely staying afloat to develop the crag, negotiate land and access issues, training local staff and at the same time, trying to make ends meet with... More

Excellent staff and beautifully maintained climbing routes. This crag is just perfect for taking beginners to. We took a group of 14 students for their first natural rock experiences and were thrilled with how encouraging and professional the staff were with them. Buses are such an convenient way to access the crag that it is worth it to ensure that... More
