    Afternoon with Tomatoe and Papaya
Very nice experience with Tomatoe and Papaya. We had the opportunity to feed them, accompany them for a walk and give them a shower. These animals are so warm animals! Eddy and his colleague welcame us and accompany us for this nice journey, sharing with us their strong knowledge about elephants. A big thank you to them!!

Great tour, that treats the elephants etically
The tour was amazing. The guide was really nice and treated the elefants well. Tomato and Papaya were very sweet and trusting, you could feed them and go for a walk with them. What I particularly liked was that the elephants weren't forced and if they didn't want to go any further, we waited instead of shooing them. I would definitely recommend this tour it‘s worth the money!

Best experience of my life 🥹
We picked a 1/2 day tour and it was one of the best experiences in my life. We ended up having a private tour due to low season which was magical. The owner clearly loves and cares for his two elephants, tells you about the care and their daily routine. During the tour you get to watch elephants in their own environment, walking with them (motivated by never ending supply of bananas in your bag), feeding them. After that we bathed them in the river which was refreshing for us and the elephants. In the end Eddy cut up some fresh watermelon for us, which was a refreshing snack after the day! Highly recommend to everyone who wants to see this amazing animal in its natural conditions 🙏 thank you very much!

    Once in a lifetime experience
We were looking for an etical sanctuary where the elephants would be treated right. We can assure that Papaya and Tomato are absolutely in a good place! Also tourguide Eddy was really kind and told us alot about the elephants and that the habits that can differentiate from one and another. The elephants always have a morning routine that includes eating, going for a walk , drink , going into the mudpool, and wash in the river afterwards. We had the privilege to experience it all and it was absolutely amazing!

These elephants are HAPPY and LOVED!!
Eddie, our SUPERB guide, was exactly on time to pick us up for our 1/2 day tour. We picked up a second small group on the way to the sanctuary, and Eddie shared stories, asked questions and had us laughing. Each of us in the group hauled a small bag of bananas over a small, suspended bridge, after which we came face to face with Eddie’s beauties, Tomato and Papaya. We fed them LOTS of treats, took them for a short stroll into the hills and brought them back to their favorite muddy place. All the while, these magnificent creatures purred and flapped their ears with pleasure. It is apparent how well they are cared for and how much Eddie and his staff love these elephants. The highlight is “bath time” - for both the humans and the elephants. We were able to take as many photos as we liked, and Eddie is happy to take photos of you and your family or group - he’s truly a pro! After we all washed up, Eddie provided us with watermelon, bottled water and a return trip to our hotel. I am a first time visitor to Thailand and am so happy to see an ethical, responsible and caring elephant rescue site. Tomato and Papaya are two lucky elephants!!

    Unparalleled experience!
It has been an unparalleled experience. Very small groups, a real luxury! In our case, we were only two families (in total 7 people) to see the two elephants. The treatment of the correct staff. Eddy was very kind at all times! They picked us up at our Hotel, they took us with another family to the jungle where the elephant sanctuary was located. We begin the adventure crossing a bamboo bridge, where the elephant kindly greets us with her trunk. We fed the two elephants, we walked with them, we saw their natural habitat and we were able to appreciate how they bathe and clean themselves, where we gave them a hand. At the end of the adventure we could clean ourselves up and change, in addition to enjoying a sweet watermelon to end the excursion.

    The best of Chiang mai
It was an amazing experience with Eddy, papaya and tomato. A smaller but more intimate sanctuary where everything is about the animals. Definitely the best option in Chiang mai if you're looking for an ethical, affordable and personal experience.

    5 stars must go!!!!
My boyfriend and I did a full day adventure with Eddie and it was well worth it! My boyfriend’s favorite part was the bamboo rafts (our oarsman was very adept at navigating the waters) with beautiful scenery and many passing elephants. My favorite part was, of course, hanging out with Tomato the elephant. Tomato and Papaya for sure know their self worth and are happy, well taken care of ladies. We also went to the waterfalls and interacted with Karen hill tribe women. Eddie is an amazing, knowledgeable guide and if we are back in Chiang Mai, we will definitely be back to say “hi!”

    Personalized experience with the elephants
Absolutely one of the highlights! This is for small groups (one or two families), and you get a very personalized visit with the two elephants (Papaya and Tomato). Eddy the owner told us that the elephants saved him, and now it’s his goal to save more elephants - he hopes to save more. Highly recommended.

A very BIG experience with Tomato and Papaya, the elephants. Eddy explained how he is keeping them, no tricks, no chains. They walk free and do what they want.

Had a brilliant day with Eddie and his elephants. They are free to roam and obviously well looked after. The kids loved feeding them and then washing them. And the two elephants were happy to spend their time with us.

Me and my friend just spent a beautiful and peaceful afternoon here. There was just the two of us so ut was even nicer. Eddy is very nice and told us about the lives of Tomato and Papaya, two elephants rescued by him. We fed them a lot of corn and Bananas, It was so cute and they are very gentle but always hungry! Especially Papaya. Both ladies were in captivity and not treated nicely before being rescued and given a better life by the sanctuary.
Eddy gave us water and some very good papaya.
Thank you very much for this day, we hope many visitors come in the future. Bye bye :)

A modest, natural refuge owned by a visionary with a great heart. What is distinctive about this refuge may be its simplicity and personableness. We introduced our grandson to his first real-life elephants after having only looked at them in story books and as toys. A lovely, unforgettable moment.

It was amazing to spend the day with Tomato and Papaya. We tried to find the best experience we could where the elephants are given priority more than anything else and we were happy we selected this trip. It was so much fun feeding them and looking happy when they were playing around in the bamboo. The waterfall and rafting experience, it all gave a nice finish to this wonderful day!

This was the best thing i’ve ever experienced. The tour guide was so sweet and funny, and taught us so much about the elephants. It’s clear that they are so looked after. and they are free to roam around the park. The vegetarian buffet was the best food i’ve had on our whole trip. Such a wide variety of food, such as curry and noodles. Overall this is a stunning place, with such a high level of care for the beautiful elephants.

Very nice, and relaxing way to interact with elephants!
The whole ambiente seems as elephant friendly as possible, for animals who have never lived in the free nature.

So we were looking for a animal friendly way to interact with this beautiful creatures. After some research we found Eddie's Elephant Sanctuary Care.
He bought two elephants from normal, commercial elephant farms and wanted to give the elephants a alternative live to their previous ones.
Organising this trip was really easy, we just contacted him via WhatsApp in the morning, asked if there are places left for the afternoon trip at the same day and he picked us up directly at our hotel at 13.30 pm.
The trip to the parking lot at the farm lasted about an hour. From the parking lot it was a walk from about 10 MIN to the feeding place of the elephants.
So there you can feed the animals and follow them to the river. Yes the main thing here is feeding, they eat all day long! But that was exactly what we were looking for. No stress for the animals, no action like riding or similar stuff, just chilling with the elephants.
It really was an amazing experience
