In researching our trip to Chiang Mai, I discovered Studio Naenna. I later decided to book a private tour of Chiang Mai. I sent my goals and expectations to the company but did not mention Studio Naenna. I was pleased and reassured when the company came back to me proposing a visit to Naenna Studios. The setting is very relaxing... More

Studio Naenna is a very traditional and unique design studio located in a lovely Thai foresty environment that touches not just your third eye but also your naturally oriented soul. I highly recommend taking the indigo and natural dye workshop and having a look at the wide range of ready made products, because it really is one in a lifetime... More

For those of you who are interested in traditional handicrafts, natural dies, hand weaving, and glorious silks, this is worth leaving the beaten track of Chiang Mai to visit. Call ahead of time to make an appointment if you want to be sure to have a detailed explanation of the treasures you will find there. If you are in Chiang... More

The textiles at this place are unbelievably beautiful. The lady who works there was very attentive and super friendly. The prices are higher than those you typically see in SEA but the quality is among the highest I've seen and the designs are spectacular. And, considering how long it takes to weave a single piece (months), I have no problem... More

My visit was in November 2015. We arrived at Studio Naenna shortly after breakfast - just in time to see the studio coming alive. We were greeted at the gate by Lamorna Cheesman, studio manager and designer. The studio is located in a traditional Thai house on a big property at the end of a narrow winding road. Lamorna took... In the trendy part of town close to the market stalls, this place is a hidden gem. I bought a beautiful top for my daughter and also had a dress made up for myself. Romana, the Australian lady who took my measurements very friendly and with her friendly nature assure me nothing would be too much trouble. I look forward... More

Studio Naenna run an excellent backstrap cotton weaving course. It takes place at the weaving studio near Chiang Mai university. It is vompletely hands on ....designing...organizing the coloured threads ...setting up the loom...and weaving. The local weaver who acts as a tutor could not be more helpful or encouraging. You also get to see other dying and products made too.

Amazing textiles - love the colours, the traditional and natural elements that is crafted into each piece of work is incredible! Also run by a lovely family who work closely with local Thai women on traditional Thai textiles. Would recommend to anyone wanting something beautiful for themselves, or a gift for a special someone or even just a look around... More

Definitely a highlight of our visit. Patricia Cheeseman founded Naenna in the 80s and took us around. Her daughter now manages the centre, which consists of the full spectrum of traditional Lao, Vietnamese and Thai textile making, from growing the plants which make the dyes, spinning, weaving, to final making of exquisite clothing. There is a small gallery with changing... More

One of the best finds in the city. Amazingly delicate and fine silk and cotton products, all tastefully designed and lovingly made, integrating the traditional dyes and patterns with the contemporary taste that westerners would appreciate.
