Amazing, get your first glimpse from the MRT, (get off at Bang Phai), take some pictures from the station then wander for 10 minutes through the pretty alleyways and along the canal intersection before going in. Knees and shoulders should be covered. It's a working temple and when I went on a Saturday at 4pm a ceremony was just finishing up. It was interesting to see all the comings and goings and offerings, not just flowers and fruit, but umbrellas hung with 1000 baht notes, packs of toiletries for the monks, fresh robes, sacks of onion and garlic...the basic necessities. I was the only foreigner that I saw in 2 hours. There are 2 highlights. What draws you is the giant Buddha statue, bigger than the reclining Buddha at Wat Pho, but the highlight for me was the inside of the Chedi (stupa). Different from any others I've seen.
When you've had enough, go left at the main exit, follow the road out, left again, on a bit, another left and cross the wee bridge. It'll take you to Wat Khun Chan. If Wat Pak Nam is understated elegance, albeit of gargantuan proportions, Way Khun Chan is all about glitter and colour and dragons and a whole menagerie of wonderful, colourful creatures. Walk through and out the other side, and stop for a cold drink at the little local shop with stone tables and benches you'll see on your right. Give some business to the locals! You can afford it after not paying an entrance fee for the temples. If it's nearly dinner time, walk for another 7 or 8 minutes to the food market near Talat Phlu BTS station. Clean, busy, best street food in the city. Buy what you fancy from one of the dozens of food stalls and eat at the tables provided. Don't be put off by Street food, it's delicious and, fresher than what you're getting in AC restaurants with menus that run to 20 pages. If they sells 3 things, they do them well, they sell everything the same day, and start again the next. A great day out!

The photo says it all. It's such a cool place and so different than every other temple you go to, that it's worth the trip (since it's not really near anything). The temple has 5 floors and two floors are filled with gifts people have donated to the temple (so it's like a museum of sorts). Two floors are for prayers and the top floor has that amazing blue/green ceiling. really really pretty.
Outside, they are constructing a 69 meter Buddha that's also pretty impressive.
I highly recommend going here.

It takes 20 minutes by Grab taxi from Wat Arun (Temple of Dawn), about 900 yen. First of all, we are overwhelmed by the huge golden Buddha. It is really big! In the building behind the Buddha, if you go up to the 5th floor by stairs, there is this beautiful ceiling. It was more beautiful than it looks in the photo. As we were praying and taking pictures, a man dressed as a security guard approached us and asked us to hand over our smartphone. I thought he would scold me, but he smiled! Apparently he will take commemorative photos. He took pictures of us not only while sitting and standing, but also the intricately crafted parts and explained them to us. The best part was taking a video. He made our family stand up, and when he thought he was coming from a distance, he pointed his camera at the ceiling and took a 360-degree shot, then came back to us. Wow, Thai people are so kind (lol). It was such a nice place that I wondered if it was really free. On the way back, I tried to take a shared truck that locals use, but it was full of high school girls and I didn't know where to go or how to get on, so I gave up. I had heard that it was hard to catch a Grab, but it came within 5 minutes. It took 12-13 minutes to get to ICONSIAM from here, and cost about 800 yen.

I went directly from Suvarnabhumi Airport. At the Airport Rail Link "Makkasan Station", I changed to the subway "Petchaburi Station" and went to "Bang Pai Station". It took about an hour. From "Bang Pai Station" Exit 1, go straight for about 50 meters and then turn right. There was a motorbike taxi waiting there, so I told it "Wat Pak Nam" and got on to the small red-brown bridge in front of the river. It was 10 baht. From there, I walked straight through the gate. It was around 12 o'clock and it was very hot, so it was a relief. I took off my shoes in the pyramid-like building and took the elevator to the top floor. The reviews said that it only works on weekends, but it was working even though it was a Thursday. I've seen it many times in photos, but the emerald ceiling painting representing the universe was a masterpiece. Most of the customers were Japanese, so I had the illusion of traveling domestically. After that, I visited "Wat Khun Chang" and moved to "Wat Arun" by taxi. It was a temple that I would like to see at least once.

My second visit to Wat Pak Nam Phasi Charoen, an amazing temple. In July 2023 there were less tourist around but even this time on a Sunday it was not too crowded. I took the MRT to Bang Phai station, Exit 1, and then down the stairs or with the elevator, it takes about 15 minutes to reach the pedestrian bridge over the canal, and then to the grounds of the temple. There is the Meili Café near to the bridge, good espresso and brownies.
There is so much to see at this temple, of course the giant Buddha statue is the main object for pictures. From the pagoda which is behind the Buddha pictures of the area can be taken. In the pagoda there are several levels to climb up the stairs, definitely worthwhile to do.
Several foreign women walked around with very tight shorts and bustier, unfortunately the Thais are too shy to tell them that wearing such dress is very disrespectful.

Not many tourists, mostly Thai locals during my visit.
A place generally you pray LP Sod Wat Pak Nam with Phra Buddha Dhammakāya Thepmongkhon.
Along the river, with just about 10-20 Baht you can buy a packet of fish pellet food to feed fish.

Share my favorite temple in Bangkok
This temple is located in the Phasi Charoen district of Bangkok, Thailand. It was built in 1610 AD as a place of spiritual practice and later developed into an important Buddhist center. Later, it was abandoned for a period of time. The water gate temple was in disrepair until 1916 when it was rebuilt and restored by the famous abbot Luang Pu Sodh Candasaro (Luang Pu Sodh Candasaro; หลวงพ่อสด จนทสโร), and it was restored from 13 The number of monks has grown to more than 500. Luang Pu Sod Chamthasaro, who is well-known in Thailand, is the founder of Samut Prakan Temple and the rediscoverer of Thailand’s Vijja Dhammakaya meditation method and has spread it to all parts of the world.
Subsequently, under the leadership of the new abbot Somdet Chuang, the 80-meter-high white pagoda "Maharatchamongkol" was completed in 2012. At the end of 2021, a 20-story Buddha statue was built in the temple, which is the tallest Buddha in Bangkok and the third tallest in Thailand. I heard that a Japanese Internet celebrity vigorously introduced this place, so many Japanese tourists will make a pilgrimage here. We met a lot of Japanese people on the day of our visit. In addition to the spectacular pagoda and Buddha statues, the most eye-catching thing is the green glazed pagoda on the fifth floor of the pagoda. The bright green dome and magnificent carvings are very dreamy. There are many Buddhist cultural relics on display from the first to fourth floors, as well as many statues of abbots.
Friends who travel to Bangkok must not miss this place. You have the opportunity to spend half a day on a pilgrimage. There are no tickets for temples and pagodas. It is worth a walk.

I visited this place on the recommendation of my cousin. Inside the building, there are exhibits on the first to fourth floors. There are also many Buddha statues. The top floor, the fifth floor, has a green dome-shaped ceiling, and the highlight is the fantastic emerald-colored roof that can be seen here. It was very beautiful. The huge golden Buddha outside was also amazing. I was simply overwhelmed by its size and presence.

Wat Pak Nam Phasi Charoen It is a famous temple. It is ancient from the Ayutthaya period. The temple is next to the Bangkok Yai canal.
There is a 69 meter tall Buddha image in a meditation posture with lotus-bud hair.
