    shopping and eating
Numerous shopping centers await, brimming with an extensive array of products to cater to your every need. These retail havens are accessible daily, though some stores may take a brief respite. Fear not, for each shop awakens to serve you on the weekends. Whether it's home decor, fashion, electronics, or groceries you seek, they have it all. Please be mindful of the 5-hour parking limit, as exceeding it may result in hefty fees. Alternatively, you can opt for convenient subway travel

    Lost in Chatuchak
Came here on second day morning in this bangkok trip. We managed to buy quite a lot of things - soap, bubble bath, clothings, sovereign, key chain, "vicks" sniff, bags, pouchs, bag decor, cup coaster, "fish in a bowl" decor, lemon grass fragrance diffuser etc. We ate Thai boat noodles n mango, pineapple, banana smoothes here. Not bad. As usual. Too many stalls. Lost our way walking around. Never fail to get something

a must visit market in bangkok
this is a must visit site when you are in bangkok. it's definitely not the cheapest in price but it's free admission and the stands goes for ever. If you've never been you need to experience this market just to look around. Lots of eateries as well but be prepared to wait at lunch hours

You can buy pretty much anything!
Selling clothing, food, housewares, pets & pretty much everything else you can think of, this place is both entertaining & horrifying! The clothes seem to be decently priced though there is a little bit of variation in different areas. The market is zoned so you can focus on a particular area of you know what you want to purchase. There are plenty of options for reasonably priced souvenirs & keepsakes and lots of food options. The pet shop area will no doubt be a shock for westerners as the standards here are very different. With cats & dogs galore (including puppies whose ears have recently been cut off & stitched up), rhea, wallabies, a meercat, goats, turtles, snakes, spiders & fish to name but some of the animals on offer- mostly kept in conditions we probably wouldn’t keep them in, made this a memorable visit & you have to keep in mind the cultural differences. I couldn’t work out whether some of the animals (particularly the fish) were being sold as pets or food. Well worth a visit & easily accessible on foot from BTS station nearby.

We always make sure when we stay in Bangkok at the beginning and end of our trip in Thailand that we arrange it so we can visit Chatuchak. It’s absolutely huge and you do have to be in the mood to be slightly squished by other people at times. Saying that I’m not really a fan of crowds but the appeal of some of the clothes outweighs my discomfort haha. We’ve been first thing on a morning before the midday heat and on an afternoon as well, you get to see, hear and smell some amazing things. There is something for everyone. My husband loves the vintage area for clothes and stuff but I prefer the more modern open air areas where you can find handmade clothes that students have made at really good prices! I can’t imagine ever visiting Bangkok and not going to Chatuchak at least once :)

I´ve been to Thailand and Bangkok many times but never made it to the market before. I got there Saturday morning, essy access with the subway, and then started to walk around. As one Thai friend had advised me, if you see soething you want then but it, you will never find back to the same shop again. He was damn right. Walking the endless corridors under the roof covers is astonishing, you can find everything you might need, and don´t need and many shops has fixed prices. The competition is hard so prices are rock-bottom and since many Thai people is hopping here you avoid the low-quality tourist items and can instead find lots of everyday things. Even if you are not interestd in shopping, go here to just get the atmosphere - you will come out with some purshases in your hand anyway.

This was my second visit here. A great place to buy gifts or anything you might need. There are plenty of opportunities to find great food and snacks. It is fun to walk around here. It is different, unique and typical Thai, only big scale. This time we were not able to find a map, it would be great if the maps were easy to find. I would recommend going in the morning like I did on my first visit, now I came after noon and it was more crowded. Going back for sure

I re visited Chatuchak market after more than 20 years and was pleasantly surprised by the improved infrastructure. Each block of shops has sheltered walkways.
The range of merchandise is extensive and we ran out of time for the art and home decor sections. I love the blue and white cotton apparel and bought quite a few. Most of the shops operate on a fixed price policy. We tried haggling, but was unsuccessful. In any case, the prices were good. We spotted similar merchandise in Icon Siam and other malls, which were priced higher so I would highly recommend shopping here before you hit the malls.
The downside was a lack of seated eating joints. After walking around, I wanted to sit down for a meal but we could not find any such option. We resorted to going to the nearby mall for our pit stop. The other problem was our Grab driver couldn’t locate the pick up point and he was driving around for 20 minutes to search for us. The taxis waiting around we’re charging exorbitant fixed fares which were not negotiable.

Oh I can never forget the experience at Chatuchak. Such an organised market which comes alive 3 days a week i.e., fri- sunday every week.
You will find all kinds of merchandise here, whatever you can think of, all organised by gate nos. Lovely and friendly vendors with prices lower than most other markets, they also offer discounts if you ask for. You can literally shop till you drop and meanwhile fill yourself up with sumptuous food. There is a place with a live DJ and the owner prepares paella right in front of you- one thing you can not avoid. I was simply in awe of this place. And then to top it up, at the end of the sunday market, the vendors neatly pack up and leave, only to return next friday ofcourse.

1 star rating is for shipper "SperCheapFreight". Chatuchak Weekend Market itself is a 5 star experience. I am not big into shopping but enjoyed my visit to the Market anyway. It is easily accessible via MRT and offer seemingly endless variety of items. I ended up buying more than what I had intended. Unfortunately I dropped most of the items off at "SperCheapFreight" for air shipment to USA. They offered discount on cash payment which I opted for - in hindsight should have paid via credit card. It has been over six months and I have yet to receive any of the items. infosupercheapfreight at gmail.com responded to my emails, with excuses, for first 4 months after that they simply stopped responding to my inquiries.

I'd known that Chatuchak is a huge market but I didn't know it had almost everything you could think of! From thai food and snacks, Thai traditional coconut ice cream, souvenirs, silk and cashmere shawls, traditional kitchen utensils, clothes, art & paintings, etc! They have all here. The prices are reasonable too, and some shops even offer lower prices than the others! You should walk around first and take notes of some alternatives to buy a certain thing, for you may find it in lower prices. A great place to buy souvenirs & snacks to bring back home.

This market is so huge, you’ll never get through it in a single day. They have everything from lizards and birds to tee shirts, leg massages and antiques. Touted as the largest market in Southeast Asia, the biggest challenge is not getting lost in it! Bring your baht, buckle your chin strap and prepare to have your senses overwhelmed. It’s unforgettable!!

I visited by myself on a solo Bangkok trip. I felt perfectly safe and enjoyed being able to look around without worrying about losing anyone. Just about everything on sale here you could want or wish for, I purchased some excellent vision covers for about £2 each and a couple of silk jackets, some tourist tat for my kids. It is huge but start at Gate 1, pick up a map and that will help you keep your bearings. If you see something you like just get it, the chances of getting back and finding the same stall again are remote and the prices are pretty consistent across the market. The food stalls were amazing. It’s quite possible to spend the whole day here, if you are there at a weekend I’d recommend this as the market to visit.

Bangkok's famous weekend market, a must-visit for first time visitors to the city. The place is very big and divided into many sections. The stalls sell anything and everything, but what I saw most were clothing. The lanes are quite narrow and if there is a crowd you have to beware of pickpockets. There are many food stalls at Section 2. Do walk around and make some comparison first before you decide on some food and drinks e.g. the second stall that we chose made much better mango smoothie than the first for the same price. Whether you end up buying anything from this market,
