We went to this amazing gallery on my birthday. The staffs who handled us was so knowledgeable and accommodating, they assisted me on choosing the perfect item to get that suited my personality and complexion and even gave us a decent discount. I highly recommend checking this place out when you have chance to visit Bangkok.

We were taken here as part of a day trip. I bought sapphire earrings. The catch has broken and I cannot get them to respond to emails. I would not recommend anyone to buy anything from this brand of store. They give you a lifetime guarantee but it is not worth the paper its written on. DO NOT BUY!!!

Initially we were happy with our purchases and the sales person. I brought a ruby and sapphire bracelet and after the 3rd time wearing, this came apart. I emailed twice to ask for a replacement but my emails are being ignored. For anyone looking to make a purchase, i would think twice.

My family and I visited Bangkok and this is one of the places we went to. We were very pleased with their service because everyone was so friendly and accommodating. i bought a 14 carat white gold ring at the Gems Gallery in Bagkok. i paid 950dollars cash , this was in August 2014. I have now taken it to get evaluated to 3 gemoligists here in South africa and i have been told it is synthetic and its a gem that has been made to look like a ruby. i am so dissapointed , i knew about scams in Bangkok and that is why i went to the gems gallery because i thought they were a reputable gallery. i want my money back! i am so dissapointed!

I would actually give them a rating of minus 10,000, but that does not seem to be an option, so I gave them the lowest rating possible.
Our Asia World tour guide took us to Gems Gallery en route to the airport. He told us that this is the place to buy quality local gems at a great price. The gallery is very impressive with lots of items on display and lots of sales people ready to take your money. We ended up choosing a ruby ring, costing several thousand dollars. We were told repeatedly that the ruby was real and untreated. Once back home in Canada, we had the ring appraised by 3 different expert gemologists - all of whom stated that not only was the stone NOT a ruby, but in fact it was treated/altered and was not natural. We have contacted people at Gems Gallery and provided them with the appraisals - which did not agree with the written guarantee they provided us stating clearly that the stone was an untreated ruby. When we did ask the store to provide us with a real untreated ruby, their response was that a real untreated ruby would cost more than the stone we bought. But wait, they also said the stone was real - so what's up??
They are now not replying to our emails.
It is our experience that Gems Gallery sold us a fake ring with a guarantee that is not worth the paper it is written on. Do yourself a favor and don't walk in their store and don't get taken by their unscrupulous practice. Buy your jewellery at home where you can be sure of what you are getting.

Please do not take our response offensive in any way. But please allow us to make it clear to the public that the ruby ring you purchased was 50,700 THB (approximately around 1,500-1,600 USD depending on the exchange rate). Our certificate of guarantee does state clearly that the stone is a 'ruby' but it does not state that the stone is 'untreated'. The three appraisers were also not all expert. The result from the three have been given different results. While the most reliable one did say it is a red color Sapphire with an unspecified degree of treatment and they agree that the stone is not 'synthetic' or 'fake' as you accused us in the first place. However, we understand that this is no longer the case. And, actually we have been agreeing to offer you refund since the first time you contacted, except that we do not want to leave you misunderstand that our product is fake.
But up until now, refunding could not happen as long as you are not agreeing to return the item to us. Now we have begun discussing with American Express about Expedited Billing Dispute Resolution through Siam Commercial Bank (a reputable local bank) so as to find a solution for this unsolved matter. We wish we could find the final solution together soon. Thank you!

Gems Gallery has never contacted me to sort out the fake Gem stone they sold me my Opal disaster continues. Buyer beware as they do not know how to do customer service is .

However, we truly appreciate that you share your feedback and comment.
On the issue that you have with your purchased product and our guarantee scheme, we affirm through our certification that we have commitment to quality and genuineness of our products. Nonetheless, regarding your case, it is very likely that your stone been damaged by usage - not defective at moment of purchase. Please see the reference below for potential damage causes:
"... There are various types of opal clarity characteristics that affect value. Opals, like other gems, can have fractures, or pits and other surface blemishes. An opal might also contain fragments of its host rock, called matrix. Matrix in a polished opal is usually—but not always—detrimental to its appearance and value. It depends on the type of opal. ...
...If an opal loses moisture, it can lead to crazing: a fine network of cracks that resembles a spider’s web. The moisture loss can be caused by heat or excessive dryness, or by exposure to bright light or direct sunlight. Crazing can be prevented by never displaying opals in places— such as window displays—where they’re exposed to these conditions. ..."

In case of damage by usage, we are willing to offer the most of our after sales maintenance service if possible without any charge unless necessary. However, in prior inspections of your item, it is pretty much likely that there would be necessary charges for changing a new stone.

You mentioned that you could negotiate a discount. When they gave you the certificate of authenticity did they mention the tag price on the certificate or the discounted price you paid?

Their prices are fixed they do not give discounts on thay but if your a traveller and you have paid tha tax ie Vat and it is included on your bill you can get a refund of it on the airport so be sure to collect your vat refund before leaving the airport
