Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Very surprised to see the low rating of this night market, my family (with kids - aged 16 & 8) thought that this is the most interesting night market in Bangkok, Train Night market ranked 2nd..The more famous markets that we visited were Patpong, Train Night Market, On Nut, Chatuchak/Jatujak and floating market. All the other markets and Chatuchak(or Jatujak) markets are packed with tourists, selling gifts, clothing and souvenirs , ok maybe occasionally some unusual stuffs, but this place is different, there are more locals armed with LED torch lights and magnifying glass hunting for treasure. Well, one's junk might be the other's treasure. The train night market is interesting for its vintage automobile collection but this place is a vintage junkie heaven, you never know what's next..The things sold here are really beyond our imagination, from brand new household electrical appliance like 2 door fridges, TVs, air conditioners, skin cares, toiletries, pet and pets' suppliers, remote controllers, hardwares, 'brand new' antiques (replicas) to real vintage finds, yes, there are duplication of things on offered but we got to experience something different. There were also some food and drinks stalls. Both the covered and open area are packed with commodities and people leaving very narrow paths for walking, so take good care of kids and valuables. The turntables and vinyl records were of attractive price. There were also vintage cameras, standing sewing machines, old bulky telephones, bronze replicas of Buddha and Buddha's heads ( different types), used copper & silver cutleries, old gaming consoles and gaming cartridges. We purchased 3 pcs of used DS cartridges (Pokemon) for 100 bahts, a pairs of water guns complete with the backpack style water-tanks for 100 bahts, a pair of aluminium pedals for son's bike (200 bahts). Didn't get the turntable and records due to logistic issues and we would be back. Language was a problem though, but with help from friendly locals and hand signs, we did it and had a sweaty but exciting night out. Now that we are home, all our purchases are in use without quality issue..

Liked this place and enjoyed shopping here. Highly recommended . Wear slippers and comfortable shorts to walk all day . That's the Thai way. N only by bus or taxi as there's no place for parking. Good luck.

Perfect Chinese market. Food, drinks and all what you want. Gifts shop, tea shop, souvenir shop, electronic music shop, porn DVD, sex toys, polish and towels for car , spears for motorcycle .... but if you want to eat in this place you need waiting .

The term of 'Thieves Market' simply disappeared. But Klong Thom Night Market was referred to as the thieves market 40 years ago, where you can find almost anything with some items unavailable in normal stores. The market evolved through the years but still maintain the concept of selling cheap and unusual items. The local enjoy browsing through the market looking for unexpected items or seeking to find hard-to-get items. This concept of browsing may not be suitable for tourist but understanding its purpose may help to either enjoy the visit or skip it totally. Take your choice.

My trip there was basically to find old film cameras; however, I didn't find any. The whole market was basically filled with television remote controls and spare-parts for various household appliances. There were two sides of the market, a messy outdoor street-style market and a store based sheltered market. The messy outdoor part was more interesting to me, but they were basically worn-out stuff trying to get a new life. Strangely, I had a sense of insecurity there; the people seemed unwelcoming and I had an instinct to keep my valuables close to me. Halfway into my trip, it started pouring and I felt that it was god's way of telling me to leave this place. However, a big problem was that, there wasn't anywhere for me to hail a taxi. Hence, I had to brave the heavy rain to the major street to hail a taxi. Overall, I do not recommend this place for families or couples but recommend it for those who just want to feel something more 'local', more chaotic.

If you're looking for the chance to buy junk, robbed and poisoned - it is a right place.
Used to be quite exciting place for some authentic relics, now it is crowded tiny sub-street "soi". Don't recommend, wasted time

They had so many car stereos, dashcams, flashlights, led lighting and other electronics here. Definitely the best pricing I found in Bangkok for any electronics.

Klong San is off the main path a bit so there ii is more focused for the locals. There are some great food booths in to sample the local delicacies such as 'Century eggs' (which surprisingly taste like, you guessed it, egg!), mini-sausages fresh off the bbq and many other delicacies. A great selection of local crafts and wares with a bit of tourist stuff. Grab a tuk tuk from Krung Thornburi (S7) BTS station or go for a bit of a walk. Definitely worth the time to visit.

MRT Hua Lamphong Station (the one that goes to Chinatown), better to take Tuk-tuk from this MRT station (get the Thai name ready) since the traffic might be crazy or walk about 10 mins. For more information & map and if you read Chinese/Mandarin, goggle chanho85.blogspot.sg/2013/03/klong-thom-night-market, a very good reference (sorry, no HTML or website link allowed)
