Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The art gallery is only 3 floors so far but the artwork is unique and serves a story. Many of the paintings on the 2/3rd floor are repetitive but all have meaning. It’s a good short stop but I wouldn’t go out of my way to visit. It’s right next to a temple which is also a good stop.

A collection of gowns worn by the queen and many photos of her reign. Close to several attractions and well worth an hour visit with free admission.

Why anyone would go to Bangkok's soul-less Museum of Modern Art when this smaller friendlier, more upbeat, more human-scaled gallery is available is beyond me. I would never have wasted my time in the other place if I had goe here first. Like nearly everything else that the wonderful Queen Sirikit touches, this gallery is the place for younger or newer or less-established artists to show their work. Visit here and you are helping the Queen to advance art in the Kingdom. It is completely upretentious, the staff is helpful, and it costs a pittance to enter. I just felt more welcome here.
You can easily miss the entrance, but as others have said, Fort Mahakan and the Bangkok Bank are your landmarks. And you don't necessarily have to like "Modern Art" (I tend not to) to enjoy this place, unlike its competition, the works on display here are modern, as in recent or new, not MODERN ART exclusively. You can actually understand these paintings! It is worth two hours to support the growth of artists in this country! Enjoy

A good gallery featuring all the details what the King and Queen had done in order to improve the livelihood of the hill tribes in Thailand.
Well worth the ticket price of 50 baht per person. I came out more knowledgeable and know a little more about the King and Queen of Thailand.

Entry fee is 30 bahts. We loved this place as it was peaceful, airconditioned, away from the crowds and the 3 floors of artwork inside were from bachelor and masters students from art institutions and universities across Thailand.
Each piece had its only story from the artist in English and Thai. Whilst we would never describe ourselves as art enthusiasts, we were both captivated by so many of the paintings inside. The gallery allows you to take pictures inside as well which is a huge positive.
Overall a real gem of a place, at the heart of the tourist area in bangkok, yet is sheltered from all the crowds. it is a wonderful place to chill out away from the sun and the heat whilst soaking up the artistic talents from the students of Thailand.

This lovely little gallery is always worth a visit. Exhibitions change fairly regularly and admission price is only 30 THB (A$1).
Sometimes each of the 4 floors has an exhibition running. This time, only the ground floor plus one had an exhibition, by a well-known artist, Chuang Moolpinit.
Most of the work was for sale, as were signed and numbered prints at a very reasonable 1,800 THB (A$60), and a really lovely signedcatalogue of the work for 350 THB (A$12).
They are happy for photos to be taken as long as you don't use flash.
The gallery shop has lovely items, a class above the general tourist crap that's out there.
Another bonus is that the Golden Mountain temple complex is a short walk away, and the King's Museum just across the road.

There’s an exhibition now January 2020 that covers a wide range of genres, mediums and scale. Pretty impressive curation too. A nice quiet space to wander around in. I am not huge fan of larger museum type gallery spaces but this is wonderful.

Good design. But when I went most of the work was dedicated to the king, as this was the going exhibition. I'm not too keen on all this unctuous treatment of a monarchy. The paintings were however of high quality.

A showcase of the northern tribal arts, handicrafts and weave products. The countless projects initiated by HM the Thailand king and queen to help the tribal people are highly exemplary and admirable. High quality products on display in the gallery and also on sale on the fifth floor.

the beautiful exhibition which is on from 1 Aug to 11 October displays intricate art and craft of 6 hilltribe along with thier lifestyle. aesthetic presentation of different types of fabric and Interactive sessions at fabric making, embroidery and wax painting make it very interesting. it was even possible to wear a tribal costume and take pictures on the fifth floor of the gallery. revival of these crafts is credited to H M Queen Sirikit who helped the tribes involved growing poppy seeds to work on their ethnic art. Great initiative.
