The area
Address
Neighbourhood: Sukhumvit
With a mix of shopping malls, hip bars and food stalls lining both sides of Thailand’s longest road, you’ll rarely encounter a dull moment along Sukhumvit. While the main road itself doesn't offer a lot in terms of entertainment, it's the adjoining 'sois' (alleys) where the magic happens. Popular spots are soi 11 for a lively night out, soi 4 for naughty nightlife and soi 21 for world-class shopping at Terminal 21. It's hard to cover everything this area has to offer in on day, so be sure to take your time. Sukhumvit is heavily congested with traffic during day and night, so getting from A to B is most convenient using the BTS Skytrain right above it.

Due to a new development moved from main Sukhumvit Road to same road but inside soi 19, though decoration, atmosphere, food and service remain the same. Burgers are a must and fries or wedges are home made!

The Black Swan used to be located close to the Sky Train steps at Asoke. We called in at its new location for a drink. We found it quite expensive. 170 bht for Tiger, 150 for an extremeley small measure of Gin and 80 bht for a tin if tonic. There was no actual drinks menu. So I have no idea what brand the gin was. I certainly did not need a can of tonic. The 170 for a pint of Tiger was the most expensive we have ever bought in Thailand.

Perfect for the times when you're craving some good old English food. Whether it's a roast, breakfast or a curry (I know...) this place serves them all. The "big yorkie" is a delight.

English style pub off Sukhumvit. Clean and comfortable with great air con. Good choice of imported tap beers and whiskeys. Only ate here once, had a burger, and I said, "Mm-hmm! This is a tasty burger! Vincent! "

This is the first time I went outstation with my youngest daughter, Angelina, sans the rest of the family! It was a reward for this young scholar who scored an incredible 9 distinctions in the recent GCE O Level Examinations 2015. As Angie is someone who loves to eat western food, I knew the perfect joint to have a fabulous first dinner in Krungthep - The Black Swan at Sukhumvit Soi 15 having frequented the place a couple of times! It is the perfect place to enjoy a truly tasty and delicious meal in cool air-conditioned comfort; the likes of Chicken Kiev, Game Hen, Mash Potatoes, Garden greens and superb sauces not to mention my fave Black Lager; Draught Guinness on Tap! Though the space may seem cramped by many, I thought it was rather cozy given the generous servings, the fresh lager and the warm hospitality of the Thai service staff who can speak enough good English without one stumbling over what to eat! Needless to say, Father always knows what's best for his baby girl and it was a superb evening together with Professor James Gomez of Bangkok University School of Communication Arts, Prof being my coursemate when we were undergrads at NUS in Singapore! It was a fine mix of good food, good drinks and food company who can dabble in some intellectual talk too! On a scale of 1-10, I would give The Black Swan a 10! Simply because I am a Guinness Man who enjoys great chow anytime! Perfect place to bond with a daughter too who share similar taste with papa! Muah! TQ The Black Swan you made our day!

Only been to the new venue on Soi19. on recommendation that the old place was good for food,.
Located down Soi 19 about 100/150m from Sukhumvit Rd.
It is a just a gun barrel bar, very narrow. only a couple of seats tables down back near toilets. Ppl standing and sitting at bar made it very difficult to walk past in & out of the place, we were made to feel as we walked past it was a bother fro them to move, they seemed to be all locals (expats) -Food wasn't all that good. in no hurry to return.

We have had many a pint here over the years.... Feels like stepping out of Thailand and into an authentic pub!

Have never tried the food (Thai food is amazing - so no need to eat here!)

But the beer is great!
