Fairly simple stop without a lot of things around it (market, food stalls, souvenir vendors). Good to go to wat arun. Location is south of Thammasat university, not north as it is on Tripadvisor- north is Wang Na ferry pier.

This pier provides ferry service to the opposite side of Chaopraya river bank at Tha Wang Lang, Tha PranNok and boarding sightseeing boat trip along the river. The pier building is also small shopping plaza with food & fruits stalls, restaurants and Buddhist amulets.

The pier is the closest one to the Grand Palace - just across the road. One of the river piers along the Chaophraya River which traverses Bangkok. You can take in the views along the river using one of the river taxis, and stop off...More

If you want to take a photo of Wat Arun you should be here at sunset time 5-6 pm. Preferably in winter.
