Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We really enjoyed our Muay Thai session here. Both myself and my daughter decided it was something that we must try while in Bangkok and we are so glad we went. It’s a relaxed atmosphere although you will get a tremendous workout.

I did one class with them and loved the experience. The class is perfectly balanced to teach some basic kicks and moves of Muay Thai. Wish I had more time with them!

I came here since it was conveniently located close to my hotel.
The trainers are fun and light hearted. Although they don’t speak perfect English their knowledge and skill set is way beyond what you’d expect to have in a group setting.
The price for the work out is more than reasonable and they cater to everyone! You can be a first timer, weekend warrior or even a well seasoned fighter... the challenge is still there! The owner, Beer, is very approachable.
If you’re looking to build a sweat or get your fix in the realm of MuayThai , don’t hesitate to come through to Watchara Muaythai!

I went for my first Muay Thai training in Bangkok at Watchara Muay Thai gym. Took up a 2 hour group class. I would recommend this gym for anyone who is looking at experiencing Muay Thai training in Bangkok. It’s very clean with good facilities. All training equipment provided. Bottled water available for sale. Coaches are very motivating and fun although speak limited English. For those looking at purchasing Muay Thai gear, they have it as well.

Chance upon this gym when I zoom in around the surrounding from e hotel that I’m staying @ using Google maps. Signed up for morning session which goes something like this.
1) coach will go around wrapping up newbie hands. A must to prevent wrist injury.
2) 10-15 min of warm up and stretches. Jumping jacks, high knees, jogging on the spot, various stretches.
3) class is group in 3-4 students to 1 coach ratio whereby we did pad work, punching bag and s&c. Each round goes between 1-3min for 2 rounds follow by 1-2 min break. This last about and 1hr to 1.5hr.
Students that are new to Muay Thai will be shown basic techniques, so there isn’t a need to be worried.
4) if time permits, techniques/shadow punches will be demonstrated and practise.
5) cool down.
Conclusion & tips: gym sells a bottle of water @ 10baht, else bring your own water.
A shower room is located in the gym, thus one is allowed to take a shower after class.
An eatery is located just below this gym which is crowded with locals after my morning training session, dishes cost between 40-50 baht. Milk tea is 25-30 baht. @ this price, dishes are nothing fancy in presentation but taste ain’t compromised.
As you walk out of the gym and make a right turn, about a stone’s throw away, you will come to a shop which does your laundry for 70baht per kilo.
