Nice view and our cheapest cable car ride, so far at NTD 120/way. We took the crystal cabins and I definitely recommend it. (if you don't have a fear of heights, of course) You will be treated with a lot of nice scenery including the Taipei 101 if the sky is clear. I'd say, no other way to go up... More

Great way to view Taipei and see part of a tea-growing town on the outskirts. 4km ride and about 250m up the city, takes 30min at the cost of NT$120 (£3). When you get to Maokong, dine or have tea at one of the many teahouses. Great views and such a relaxed atmosphere.

It's a good place to have a refreshing break from City traffic and noise. Very conveniently located next to Taipei Zoo and can be reached by MRT. Gondola ride is fun specially for the first timers, it takes about 20 min to reach to the top. Recommend to take glass bottom cabin for amazing views beneath you as you ride... More

I thought this Gondola ride up to Maokong was a short one. Boy was I wrong. This Gondola takes you from outskirts of Taipei up the mountains for a half-hour ride up across valleys and mountains up to the place known for it's tea: Maokong. The price to ride the Gondola is not much, and I would highly recommend going... More

We took a ride on the gondola after visiting the zoo. The rides are not expensive and the view along the way is nice. It was very cold when we reached the top and there are a few cafes and a eating place there. Almost similar to the cable car ride in Hong Kong's the peak but less commercialized.

The rope way journey from national zoo and back to zoo station was really great. It is about 1 km distance by ropeway. Very good sight of Taipei 101 from the top of Maokong Gondola. Worth a travel

Two of my family members made a trip to the top. Everything good but ticket price...should lower a little bit.

i think if you take the gondola at night and look out of gondola, you will feel scenes so beatiful and maokong has many foods is children like, so you can go to Maokong with children.

This is not a five minute ride, so don't be surprised. Going up and down the hills with the gondola gives you a great view of the surrounding area. There were pretty few people when we went in early January. Big plus for giving a discount if you use your easycard (which you usually use on the subway)

Theres really nothing spectacular about the Gondola ride up. Upon entering the Gondola, sit on the right side so you'll get to see the city skyline. The night scenary is nothing much really. The lights are not strong enough to make it spectacular. Cost 100NT from Taipei Zoo South station to go up to MaoKong via the Gondola. Cost 120NT... More
