You get the "away from city" view while being in the city. It is easy to go from Taipei City. Food there can get rather expensive though.

I love going up the mountain, going to a tea place, drinking tea, looking over the green mountains, and eating their sesame noodles.... The gondola ride is fun too.

First of all I saw it from Taipei 101 and then decided to go there. I went there by Cable Car. It was a good experience. You can have good photos in neutral beauty.

Taipei Zoo and the Maokong Gondola are worth doing and great value. I would recommend the glass bottomed Gondola to give more impressive views below your feet of the tree tops and terrain. Wait time for the glass... More

Its certainly roomy enough for that, i guess just depends on how many people are riding the same time as you? and what they are carrying with them.
