At 509 meters high, this was the world's tallest building from 2004 to 2010, when the Burj Khalifa in Dubai surpassed it. The tower is reminiscent of a pagoda or a stalk of bamboo and designed to withstand typhoons and earthquakes common in Taiwan. Floors one through five are a shopping center and both the indoor (89th floor) and outdoor (91st floor) observation decks offer a 360-degree panoramic view.

ever thought of visiting Taiwan? everytime during new years the most spectacular fireworks will explode from the big 101 story building known as 101. it also has a big steel ball suspended by wires in the anti-earth quake shock room, if an earthquake occurs, the building does not shake, the big iron ball does.

If you like Marina Bay Sands of Singapore, this might be a good spot for you to go to. Taipei 101 is a must-see for all tourists.

Must stop by the dumping house early in the basement mall and then go on the fastest elevator in the world and view what was once the tallest building in the world and see the counter weight for severe weather events.

One of the world's tallest buildings which offers sweeping views of the region. Fast and smooth elevator, food and drinks are available for purchase. The entry price recently increased. Places to pose for photos inside and outside of the building.

This is must see attraction for viewing the city. Check the weather forecast prior to going. The view is outstanding for viewing the entire city north, south east and west. It also has the Guinness World record fastest elevator to the 85th floor.

The elevator speed was so impressive! Went there in the evening, so city views were truly spectacular.

Always like to grab any branded goods at Taipei 101. With many brand names and nice restaurants and do remember to get up to the observatory tower for the best view of taipei. The place is easy accessible by MRT and would be nice to visit the place at night if you would like to see light display of Taipei... More

Ate at the ding Tai Dung downstairs. Well worth the wait! Clean mall and easy to get to. I didn't go up as there was a bunch of Chinese tour buses that had just unloaded
