The hot spring museum is a great way to get oriented to the historical and current use of Beitou hot springs. The displays were all great and housed in the historical Japanese building. The museum is free and you'll be required to use their slippers inside the building (or purchase disposable ones). We learned about the history of the area... More

One day tour to Beitou Hot Spring Museum and the beautiful Japanese-style building attracts my attention. The museum is now listed as Taiwan's third-grade monuments. There are first floor and second floor exhibition in the museum. To introduce the history of Beitou hot springs as the theme, from the principle of hot springs, Beitou stone, volcano to the late Beitou... More

If you want to find out about the Hot Spring in Beitou, then come to this museum. You will learn a lot. The museum does not allow you to wear your street shoes inside, but they provide you with slippers.

Tells you the history of hotspring in Beitou. Just keep thinking in this trip, Taiwan has the resources for travellers but they lack the software to it. Same thing in Japan would be packaged so much more attractive to tourists. Hope they can learn from neigbouring countries and improve their economy.

This museum of the hot spring is inside a Japanese colonial building. It is very interesting and you can see in the basement the old pool that was filled with the warm water, and various rooms around.

We stopped in here because of rain but greatly enjoyed the visit. This is a well done local museum, free, that explains the history of Beitou. It is well worth an hour if you're in the area.
