It's a good place to roam around during night. It is one of the largest, most popular night markets in Taiwan with regard to food, and popular points of Taipei's night life among visitors. It is located 100 metres from MRT Jiantan Station. The night...More

People has been saying Shilin is way too touristy and I agree to some degree, but the food here is definitely worth the visit. Try the Ah Po Mian Xian, thai food (I know it's odd to try thai food in Taiwan, but it was...More

We visited Shilin Nightmarket after spending the afternoon in Beitou. There were four of us including two finicky eaters which spoiled the adventurous fun. If you like looking at knick-knacks that would have been fun too. Regardless, I still feel everyone visiting Taipei should experience...More

This is the biggest and most popular night market in Taipei. The market itself is worth a visit, unfortunatelly it's usually so crowded that it kills the fun completely. You can't really "walk around" anymore. Instead you have to follow wherever the crowd pushes you....More

The night market is full of street stores and food. However it is extremely busy and this almost makes it un enjoyable! - no clothes shops let you try on the clothes first either. Other, quieter, night markets with similar stalls are more appealing to...More

Food is important for the Chinese culture, so I could not imagine they will be closed throughout the whole New Year period. Contrary, it is probably going to be more crowded that time of year.
