Interesting Temple, but nothing terribly special.

This temple is located next to the An'ping Old Fort. Walking through the temple only takes 15-20 minutes if you are walking real slow and looking at every detail. Personally, I... read more

This temple is located next to the An'ping Old Fort. Walking through the temple only takes 15-20 minutes if you are walking real slow and looking at every detail. Personally, I must have seen over 100 temples in my travels. The only really noteworthy thing about this one is the 3D detail of all the carvings all the way up... More

The gate welcomes you in a rich giant Chinese sculpture. Walk inside the temple and see the crafted wall. It is nice. Don't forget to look up cos the ceiling will steal your impression. Such in detail crafted n look so ancient. It is just beautiful. You may look around and see the lively of this temple. Enjoy n feel... More

A large site, this temple has some very unique features and is well worth seeing, despite the wealth of wonderful temples in Tainan. The ceilings are truly spectacular. It's just across from the very boring Anping Fort and is surrounded by very narrow lanes and hawkers. Definitely a must see. Also check out the cemetery that is very nearby. Turn... More

This temple is beautiful but if you see so many as me you will not feel excited any more but if you like temples you will like this one. Also in area around there is many markets and you can buy some yummy food and souvenirs.

It was ok, but I had seen better. These are still attractions worth seeing in Tainan as they don't have that many.

The temple is just located in front of the Anping Fort in a touristy site in Tainan. It was constructed in 1668 during the Qing dynasty to house the Matzu deities that were brought over by Koxinga to Anping from the Fukien province. The temple was meant to be a spiritual pillar to bless those Chinese sailors and settlers in... More

This is another must see temple in Tainan City. With so many to choose from, it is hard to see all the best spots but if you have to choose one to visit, this should be it.
