- seeplaces2016Seattle, Washington60 contributionsPeaceful and beautiful. Must visit!Very peaceful Pagoa and beautiful!!! Besides visiting the Pagoda and the beautiful gardens around it, you get awesome views of Fewa Lake, the Himalayas and Pokhara. Defintiely worth it. We took a boat at Fewa Lake to the trail head and hiked up (about 50 mins). Then we spent about 45 minutes on top and hiked down and took a boat to the island temple and back. Was a beautiful half day.Visited November 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 13 November 2023
- Martin W4 contributionsA good day out with fantastic views and great food.I went twice once with a friend where we got a boat and then climbed then walked back to Pokhara through the farms and outskirts where we were greeted by children and friendly locals. Despite the heat it was well worth it for the views and a look around the temple. The Paneer Butter Masala at Cafe Elite was so good I returned by taxi on my own to have again. The taxi was much more costly and I ended up hiking down to get a boat as all the taxis there were waiting on their fares.Visited January 2024Travelled with friendsWritten 7 January 2024
- Prabir RDurgapur, India94 contributionsPRONAM TO BUDDHAWonderful visit of this Pagoda. Mesmerising scenic beauty . Only tough for the senior citizen to reach this Pagoda by getting up approx 350 steps. But reaching there soul and mind got such a peace which is undescribeable. Life became blessed by Lord Buddha.Visited March 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 18 March 2024
- KeenTraveller12372Sydney, Australia645 contributionsA HARD WALK BUT SO WORTH ITChose to walk to the Peace Temple so after being canoed across the lake the guide and 2 others we begin our trek. Up up and up after 1.5 hours with stops one arrives at the World Peace Stupa and more steps really!!! I have come to realize that Nepal likes steps LOL On the walk one gets to see views of the lake, Himalayas and Pokhara valleyVisited March 2024Travelled soloWritten 21 March 2024
- LolaGo1Washington DC, District of Columbia6,631 contributionsHad to walk muddy paths and lots of steps to reach it!My hired driver told me about the 2 ways to reach this attraction The first one we took involved walking muddy paths ( was raining during my visit) and steps to climb before reaching it. After my visit , I took the second way involving cemented steps, going on the downward direction to the parking lot. Much easier on the legs and knees! This attraction is beautiful and peaceful. The fog had lifted so I was able to clearly see it and take pictures. There are several statues depiting Buddha, all in gold colors as I walked around the temple. Note: Shoes have to be taken off. There is a small garden with beautiful flowers infront of the Temple. Signs about observing “Silence” are posted.Visited March 2024Travelled soloWritten 28 March 2024
- Michael C7 contributionsPeaceful and beautiful views5 out 5 - Beautiful views and very peaceful. We paid for a boat and driver from Pokhara to Pagoda Peace Temple. We hiked up about 45 minutes to 1 hour. Make sure to bring the correct foot wear. There is a stop off for a shop to get some water about 20 minutes into the hike. When you successfully hike to the top you can enjoy views and get a coffee in the mountain cafe.Visited April 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 5 April 2024
- podrozniczka60New Jersey16,703 contributionsAmazing landmark adds beauty to the Pokhara Valley.Beautiful experience! We hiked to the temple, took our time to explore the temple itself and its vicinity, hiked back using another approach and subsequently used boats to Pokhara via Fewa lake. Beautiful views, lovely people met on our way. Peace Pagoda on Anadu Hill is a Buddhist temple also known as Shanti Stupa. It has a recognizable brilliantly white silhouette, visible from the distance. It was constructed by Buddhist monks from the Japanese Nipponzan Myohoji organization. There are two tiers for tourists and religious visitors to circumambulate. Walking around, one can stop and admire little altars with images of buddha. Customarily one has to do it barefooted, of course. The trip was wonderful and unforgettable. We also enjoyed the panoramic view of the Annapurna range and all the surrounding beauty of the area.Visited March 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 8 August 2024

Blissful experience! You got climb many steps to reach at the top so it will be difficult for the elderly and those with physical problems. The mountain views are stunning and so is the Pokhara city/lake Fewa. I enjoyed the beautiful sunset views amongst the mountains. The world peace Pagoda (stupa) is situated in a very serene natural peaceful scenic environment. You have to maintain silence as a respect. Entry tickets are not required but donations towards its maintenance is welcomed. The walls of Pagoda has Buddha’s statues, and a tree depicting nature respect and peace. This is the second most holiest place for the Buddhists. I highly recommend one to visit here. You can hike or take a boat 800 rs one way , 1200 return. A taxi would charge approx 15000 return.

3 of us hired a small row boat with driver, 700rs split 3 ways including life jackets, n were rowed across to landing. Bit of a climb up but nice views of lakeside. Peace pagoda nice spot n view of mountains good. We walked down following path from lookout point near cafes. Lovely walk down came out near houses n not far from cave n devis falls. Then walk back to lakeside on dusk. Very pleasant outing. Fine clear day would have been better.

You can take a cab to reach the base of the mount where Peace Pagoda is situated. This place has a very calm ambience and has a lovely view of Pokhara valley and the surrounding mountains. Not many restaurants around or nearby the Stupa/Pagoda/Temple. The best way to visit the stupa is you take a cab to the stupa, and hike down the hill (or mountain, depends where you are from :) ), towards the Phewa Lake, and enjoy the lunch in the restaurants beside the lake (this is across the lake from Lakeside), and you can come back to the town on a boat. The hike down is about 2 to 3 hours.

I walked up to the Peace Temple from Pokhara ( It took several hours) then took one of the trails to hike up to Shiva then hiked back down and took a boat across the lake at sunset. It's a long day but possible! The views from the Peace Temple are not to be missed.

A wonderful place, perhaps one of the most beautiful in Kathmandu. To access you pay 200 rupees per person. A beautiful staircase takes you up where you can admire a spectacular view. Full of cute monkeys absolutely used to all the people visiting. Not to be missed.

It's easy, and well worth it, to take a taxi up from Pokhara to this lovely stupa. We could see it from our hotel room but that had not prepared us for how impressive it is close up. Even more impressive, visitors are asked to be silent when near the stupa itself, and remove shoes to climb up to admire the statues of the Buddha which occupy its alcoves. Needless to say, because it is set high above Pokhara itself the views are outstanding. The stupa makes a good 'companion' visit, with the nearby Shiva temple on a nearby hill.

We got a taxi here and back which cost Rs 1800 slightly more due to the festival and very few taxis, he also took us to devils falls on the way back free of charge. We left at 7.45 and got there at 8am.
It was an easy walk from the car park to the Pagoda it took around 10 mins. It was very quiet in the morning which was very peaceful
Sadly due to the cloud we couldn't see any of the views or even the top of the Pagoda but

It is a great place in Pokhara and not to be missed. The views are simply amazing, literally, you can enjoy the whole Pokhara valley and Phewa Lake. It's a marvelous place. If the visibility is clear then you got to enjoy amazing Himalayan views as well. This is a not to be missed place while you are in Pokhara.

If bikes can go the other way, follow that path and you may find a carry bike of some sort. Don't go the way we hiked. The other way is safer for your friend. Have a great holiday in Pokrah
