The lakeside has a number of fancy restaurants lined up along the main street, so there will be no shortage of food options. The quality of everything here is magnitudes higher than Kathmandu, even the little convenience stores had some good produce and snacks. You can take a small boat to the island temple which will give you a nice view.

The Pokhara Lake is a wonderful place to just sit and relax and enjoy the serenity and the tranquility of the nature. Sunrise and sunset is mesmerizing.

To be fair, there are things I like about Lakeside. There are good cafes, a nice little organic store and a few other things. But it has become so overbuilt and seriously tourist-oriented. One of the things that irritates me most is the many places that feel they have to have overly loud music playing all the time in order for anyone to notice them. There is a lot of competition for tourist dollars etc, and every year some places go broke and give up—but each one that closes seems to be replaced with two more. The lake itself is beautiful, though the lake is heavily polluted. Going out on the lake is fun, but you definitely don't want to go for a swim, either by accident or design.

I recently spent a month in Nepal. During that time I did a trip of a lifetime that included a 17 day trek to Everest Base Camp followed with three days of down time relaxing at the Pokhara Lakeside Resort. Whilst the trek was outstanding the three days was spent in sunny tropical weather. The property has a great vista overlooking the lake and was a welcome relaxing time.
My room was clean, comfortable, and everything thing I expected. The food was very good and the breakfast plentiful. I spent a lot of time at the pool just relaxing with my feet up and the service for food and beverage was friendly and quick. The staff arranged a day out on the Zip Flyer which was thrilling and a must do! There was an airport shuttle which made it very convenient.
As a former Hotel Manager I can say I was impressed with the hotel, their facilities, great staff, F&B, and location. No hesitation in recommending this property.

...which you can find all over Asia, wherever a particular tribe of tourist is drawn, in this case the ‘traveller’. But that’s no bad thing. Lakeside constitutes a tiny part of this large city and in this small area you can find plenty of places to eat, you can shop for all sorts of tat, you can book or partake in loads of different activities and it looked like there were an array of places to stay too. Overall, I would say that it compares favourably to other similar areas in South and SE Asia because it’s clean, hassle-free and friendly. (Fun fact: the otherwise excellent Lonely Planet guide to Nepal describes Lakeside as ‘gaudy’ before recommending little else of note in Pokhara which can be found outside the area!)

The lakeside boat ride was very scenic and peaceful. Well worth the 600 npr for the one hour!
The views from the temple in the middle of the lake were also very amazing.

Nice area/scenery, but could be kept a bit cleaner and nicer looking along the path. Boating options are many, but a bit over-priced. We were 2 Nepalis and 1 bideshi living/working in Nepal - but they still made us pay the bideshi price to rent a boat for the day - ridiculous and just plain greedy. But so nice to relax on the boat in the middle of the lake with drinks and snacks we carried with us - and slowly row around when we fancied it.
