This is the second time we chose to use this company while trekking in Nepal. Our trip was a definite success. We spent 3 weeks in Nepal, including 18 days trekking the Annapurna circuit. Every detail was organised to perfection and we did not have to worry about any details of the trip. Our guide Ngima and both of our porters were extremely profesional and friendly, and we felt really well looked after on the long trek. Our agent Pamfa customised the trip to our needs and suggested some great hotels in Kathmandu and Pokhara. She also organised all our transits in Nepal. Can’t wait for our next adventure.

Last October it was the fifth time since 2013 that we set out for an expedition-style camping trek organized and supported by company Langtang Ri, which is run by Pamfa Dhamala and her son Lomash.
Our focus this time was the Nagoru mountain range in the Naar-Phu area, where among other things we visited a hidden mountain lake at an altitude of 5200 meters, which probably had not yet seen any human beings before us, as this lake does not exist for more than 20 to 30 years and is accessible only via very high passes from the west side, but not directly from below.
Despite rather difficult conditions due to an enormous amount of snow, which showed not tendency to melt away, once again we enjoyed the perfect organization of our entire trek with an extremely flexible and supportive crew.
Special thanks also go to my friend and mountain guide Lawang Tamang, who was with us at numerous adventures in the past, and once again coordinated and guided the entire staff in an extremely smooth and effective manner.
Whenever you want to do something special in the mountains of Nepal, Langtang Ri Trekking & Expedition and guide Lawang Tamang are highly recommended!

This was an unforgettable trip organized and managed by Langtang Ri Trekking. I was solo and they went above and beyond to help plan my trip and make sure I saw what I wanted to see, explained that trekking in the winter may be challenging and the itinerary may need to change. My guide, Pasang Dawa Sherpa, was truly amazing! He was thoughtful, knowledgeable, safe and really fun! This far exceeded my expectations and each step along the way, Pamfa and the staff made sure all was well and that I was happy. HIGHLY recommended!

This trip was a mixed bag for me. Granted I got what I signed up for, a cultural trip and Langtang Ri Trekking DID deliver that; but I guess I'm less cultural focus than most. But Langtang Ri staff went out of itinerary to facilitate (with some input of financial offsets to accommodate the travel changes) which is excellent of them.
Oddly, the parts of the trip I particularly enjoyed, were the incidents and issues that travellers would prefer to have avoided. We were inundated with mudslides, rockfalls that blocked our transport, and flooded dirt roads that turned to mud traps. And trekking through those hardships made the journey worth its salt.
Our two main guides were pretty knowledgable and helpful. For me, guide RAM is an exemplary guide you want by your side when things fall apart. He know when to step in to assist and when to offer assistance, a most invaluable person to have on the trip. He even arranged for me to visit the (second) world longest pedestrian bridge (in the world). Not for the faint hearted, especially during rainfall, which was the weather I attempted (ie. Slippery when wet).
I would like to thank my Langtang Ri guides, for turning an otherwise bland cultural trip (for me, at least), into a memorable experience. I would also offer advise to future travellers to share with guides, if their journey does not commensurate according to their expectations. Langtang Ri does their best.

We have enjoyed two treks in Nepal with Langtang RI, with plans for the third now underway. Langtang RI are extremely professional as well as friendly organising all the necessary permits. This trek we encountered bizarre unseasonal weather in Manaslu in Oct 2022. Pampha worked overnight to arrange for helicopter evacuation. So grateful she managed to get the flight so quickly despite the huge demand. We found that when things don’t go to plan, Pampha & our guide Mansoon were very agile & swift in rearranging our schedule. For this reason, as well as the friendly & personal services, I have no hesitation recommending the safe hands of Langtang Ri expeditions. We have had such a great trip & can’t wait for the next in 2024. Such a beautiful country.

On our trekking tour to Dolpo in April 2024 we were facing rather difficult conditions: Cancelled domestic flights, deep soft snow on the high passes and very strong wind every day in the afternoon.
Nevertheless the team of Langtang Ri under the supervision of mountain guide Lawang Tamang managed to get all issues solved so that we were able to complete the entire trek as planned.
As already several times in the past we were thus very glad to have the company Langtang Ri Trekking & Expeditions as partner for trekking services and support in Nepal.

Had a relaxing Kathmandu / Nagarkot trip for 5 days.
They took so much care of us like we were family. From our pick-up at the airport, the whole family personally met us, saw to it that we were properly checked in at our hotel, were on-time and ready every day, showed us more than was promised and adjusted to our pace.
We had a super hike in Nagarkot for 14 kms. Being a first-timer, our guide Santosh eased us into it, allowing stop time and made it a wonderful experience.
Due to bad weather, our first attempt at the Everest mountain flight was cancelled but Pampha and her team came again the second day early in the morning to ensure that we did not miss the experience.
We would definitely recommend them to make your experience seamless and enjoyable.

It was a wonderful experience visiting Nepal with the travel plan provided by the agency in consultation with us. Plan was good and covered the best of Nepal. As the road travel from Kathamandu to Pokhara takes a long time n strenuous, one way travel can be through air travel and with this half day plan can be cutdown without burdening the traveler. The cost of the package was very economical, suiting to the purse of a commoner. Hotel accomodation in Kathamandu may need a little more work to keep the long distance traveler happy .

As a solo trekker I opted for a guide as I hadn’t trekked in the area for 17 years. I LOVE this area and found Langtang Ri very easy to communicate with and they handled all permits, flights etc with ease. I have used them in the past and will do so in the future.

First trip to Nepal. Although a short trip, Langtang-Ri organised a personalised itinery that filled in the main cultural sites in the Kathmandu valley, whilst giving us the flexibility to change.
The guide and the driver were well spoken and knowledgeable on the history and cultural aspects.
All in all, a very enjoyable trip thanks to the professional and friendly services provided by Langtang-Ri

Namaste! I will go to Nepal in early November. I need to know if I can book the trek to Langtang 10 days for one person only. and if I can have a guide just for myself, or if I have to join a group. I would also like to complete 20 days with another 10 day trek approximately, but not exceeding the maximum altitude of 4,000 mtrs. Maybe Tisum valley or the other less popular one. Thank you

Dear Claudia, Namaste! Thank you for your query. We don't have a group that you can join for early November for Langtang Trek but we can arrange you to go for the trek with our guide. Tsum valley is not possible for just one person. Instead we would suggest Mardi Himal Trek. Let me know if you have any further queries. I will be happy to answer them for you.

Maybe a silly question but can i use US dollars through the region? Or will i need to change to Rupees?
Written 7 October 2016
We paid the travel company in advance but due to problems on the trail had to take jeeps to our destination. When we didn't have enough rupees we were able to pay in dollars for the jeeps, I assume because they would have better access to banks to make the exchange. If you do smaller bills are necessary and they will not be able to make change. It is always better to plan for the unexpected. Our our trek we did see a number of unexpected illnesses that required jeep assistance or extra days to recover from illnesses, Weather also plays into cost. Due to connecting flights we booked a jeep to guarantee we made our flight. Langtang Ri will be able to give you a good guideline on suitable amount and/or cushion. There were 3 of us and we helped cover each other. Hope this helps

Has anyone used Langtang Ri for a family trip (kids aged 8-13): I am tempted by their 14 day tour but never booked something like this before and unsure how to tell if reviews etc are genuine. sorry if that sounds cynical.

We just completed an 8-day trek with a family of 4 people. Kids ages 11 (girl) and 15 (boy), in the Langtang valley. It was a wonderful trip and the kids did fine. We even summited Tserko Ri at 16,300ft with the kids. I definitely recommend Langtang Ri Trekking to support your trip. They did a great job.
