Kopan Monastery is a beautiful Buddhist monastery situated on the Kopan Hills. The architectural design is really stunning with various intricate design. A very peaceful place to visit and enjoy the surrounding views and the creation.

This is a gorgeous placer with a wonderful view of the city of Kathmandu. We love coming here and usually buy several of the Dalai Lama's quotes on parchment. Highly recommend for a peaceful day and meditation.

This is the place to go to get out of the dirty, smog-filled streets of Kathmandu! It's high on a hill overlooking the city (so not much of a view) but the surroundings are serene. A good place for a meditation retreat.

This is a serene sacred place on the top of a hill overlooking Kathmandu. Go for a quiet refreshing moment. Not appropriate for children.

The monastery is open every day to the public. Their courses and retreats are on a schedule that can be found on their website.

i was at the monastery in sept this year and it was still looking inceedible. we talked to an american that was doing a course there, and i believe the reperations to have come even further by now.
