Breathing slowly and gasping for breath in the cold high altitude of 5100m Gorak shep I questioned whether EBC was worth it. And I would say despite the steep climb ,the bitter cold, the rarified air it was worth every small bit!!
Thanks to HSJ...More

I can't tell you the safety rating or how long hsj has been running the tours for, but I can tell you that lukla is the world's second most dangerous airport, so the pilots that fly into it are good.... Damn good! Given the quality of the pilots, you are far more likely to get your foot chewed off by a rogue cow than you are to have any sort of incident at lukla. The aircraft are mostly twin otters which are designed for short take offs and landings, not super comfortable and a bit squeezy, but lukla is only a single short strip.... on a very step hill! I must say, there is not a better view from a plane anywhere as the final approach into lukla!

Dear questioner - we found Himalayan Social Journey to be very accommodating with all our requests. We booked our main trek to EBC from Australia via email but had a number of days either side of the trek for short duration sightseeing. HSJ provided many options half day, full day and / or multiple day trips which we had a choice to best suit our requirements.
HSJ offered flexibility and a variety of options with short notice.
