First, I would like to thank the work of the porters, guides and Norsang Lama to make possible the successful summiting at 19/10/2024.
The trek itself is about 14 days, and it requires some physical and mental preparedness. The first few days is an up and down wandering in the forrests. After reaching Kothe the real adventure begins and you start to feel the Himalayas. The summit day is quite demanding, as the previous day you trek up to high-camp, and after spending a short night in a tent, wake up at 1 am and start to peak Mera. And after that back to Kare. Even going down does not simple as before going back to Lukla you have to climb up to a high pass.
The food was very good for the whole trek, the tea house (lodge) accommodation is better what you can expect in some mountains, but still you have to adapt to the cold, isolation (no network, sometimes no wifi) and the monotonous daily routines.
Our trekking guide Suren, helped us everything, know everything, and was a great guy. The porters did the heavy part of the trek, without their job it won’t be even harder to do this.
An important thing is to keep in mind that the flights to and back to Lukla is never a sure thing, maybe you have to wait days, so when calculating the whole length of the journey add 1 or 2 days as a safety time.
My final summary is that I found Norsang Lama and his company absolutely reliable, and if I ever go back to Nepal I will going to consider them again as my tour operator.

I recently completed the Manaslu Tsum Valley Circuit with guide Samden Tamang from High Camp Trekking. Norsang and Samden put together a great itinerary for me that perfectly matched the time I had available and helped me check all my gear before departure. The trek was amazing. If you’re considering the Manaslu Circuit, I’d strongly encourage you to add Tsum Valley to the itinerary, it was the highlight of my trek, with stunning scenery, beautiful people and incredible Tibetan Buddhist culture. This is also true of the Manaslu Circuit but Tsum Valley was really special. Samden was experienced, knowledgeable, patient and kind. I got quite sick with a bad cold or flu and chest infection early on the trek which lasted for most of the duration and he made sure I got plenty of rest and was flexible with the itinerary to accommodate my energy levels while still allowing me to complete the trek as scheduled. I highly recommend this trek, this company and my friend and guide, Samden.

High camp trekking organized a Himlung Himal (7126m) expedition for me and my friend. We wanted a private expedition with just the two of us and High camp trekking delivered! Everything we discussed and agreed on prior to the trip was met beyond expectations (organization, food, guide, base camp services, transport...). Norsang (the owner) communicated perfectly and we will definitely ask him to organize another trip for us.

Amazing experience!

We did the Manaslu circuit and Tsum Valley trekking and enjoyed every second of it. Every aspect of the trekking was planned to perfection, from our accommodations to daily trekking schedules, ensuring a smooth and rewarding experience.

Our guide, Birendra Tamang, was knowledgeable, professional, and passionate, sharing insights into the local culture, history and landscapes along the way. His expertise and encouragement made all the difference, especially during the more challenging parts of the trek. He ensured our safety and well-being at all times, even in the high-altitude sections, which was incredibly reassuring.

The route through the Tsum Valley felt like a step back in time, with unspoiled landscapes, traditional villages, and warm, welcoming locals. Every day was an immersion in breathtaking scenery, from the lush forests at lower altitudes to the awe-inspiring mountain views as we climbed higher.

The Manaslu Circuit itself was a thrilling experience, blending dramatic mountain scenery with serene trails. Every turn on the circuit revealed stunning views of Mount Manaslu and neighboring peaks, and the journey through diverse ecosystems made each day feel unique. From lush valleys and roaring rivers to high-altitude passes, the entire trek was an immersion into nature's grandeur.

Accommodations were surprisingly comfortable given the remote locations, and we were treated to delicious, authentic meals that provided the energy needed for each day’s trek. The team made sure our dietary needs were met, which was very much appreciated.

We had a beautiful time trekking through Ghorepani, Poon Hill and Ghandruk village with Birendra ☺️ We only had a short time for trekking and the company managed to squeeze this itinerary in 3 days for us. Though it was rainy and sometimes cloudy, the villages were serene, peaceful and picturesque. I would recommend to anyone 🤩

We did our first trek in Nepal, in Langtang Valley last January. Our guide, Samden, was amazing. He was very patient and thoughtful. He made sure we stayed in comfortable tea houses and we really enjoyed our trek without having to worry about accommodation, food, etc. We learned a lot with Samden. It was for us an unforgettable experience. We warmly recommend this agency!!! We will come back to Nepal with high camp trek.

We did a 15-day trek starting in Lukla and then going through Puiya, Panngom, Kothe, Khare, Mera peak summit and then back to Lukla via Zartwa La high pass. The first 5 days we hiked though the Nepali jungle, which was surprisingly hardest part of trek. The paths there were very steep, often filled with mud and rocky stones, which made them physically demanding. We also encountered some leaches and a snake, which we did not expect. Otherwise, the trees, flowers and waterfalls were stunning. The jungle ended in Kothe and from there onwards we were trekking up through a valley covered in small bushes and grass with snow covered peaks on either side. Pretty much the ideal Himalayan scene that one imagines. The glacier on Mera Peak was very compact and easy to walk on.

Norsang, our guide, and the two porters we had were all very helpful and always in a good mood. Norsang was excellent in organising the flight to Lukla, accommodation and food. All our meals were included in the price of the trek and we were never left hungry with Norsang always asking if we wanted a second portion. The acclimatisation was well planned with acclimatisation hikes at higher altitude. Hence, we only experienced a mild headache. The only issue we encountered was with hiring glacier equipment in Khare as they only had semi-automatic crampons, that did not fit our boots which could only take touristic crampons with straps. Therefore, we had to hire alpine boots, which unfortunately were not available in size larger than 46. Hence some of us had to walk in boots that were slightly smaller, which made the decent rather unpleasant. Therefore, if you have shoe size larger than 46, I recommend bringing your own alpine boots.

It was cold and windy on the summit day, -16°C, but under Norsang’s leadership, the ascent felt comfortable and safe. The sunrise and the views were amazing. Overall great experience, we would definitely use Norsang's service again for more trekking in Nepal.

Ahhh, where to even begin! We trekked the Manaslu Circuit with High Camp Trekking and the entire experience from booking the trek to the very last day was not only easy but enjoyable. When planning and booking the trek, Norsang Lama went above and beyond compared to other guide agencies that also gave me a quote. He created the most comprehensive itinerary outlining every detail. Furthermore, before I had even committed to using High Camp Trekking, Norsang showed me around Thamel directing me to the best gear stores! For the trek, we were guided by Sonjaya Lama, Norsang’s brother. Sonjaya Lama was a great guide and companion to have on the trail. He navigated the challenging trails gathering information from locals and other guides about trail closures and dangerous areas. With heavy monsoon rains and the changing of the seasons the trail does not always follow what is shown on paper or digital maps. Often times Sonjaya would use information from locals to detour around dangerous landslide areas, something we would not have been able to do alone. Sonjaya Lama also helped us connect with the place and people on a deeper level. He would share information about his religion and culture connecting it to what we were seeing and experiencing on the trail. When we stopped for lunch, reached our teahouse, or even passed a local on the trail, he would have conversations with other Nepalis and then share what he learned with us! Sonjaya Lama also showed adaptability during our trek; we were supposed to do a multi-day side trip into the Tsum Valley but active landslides in the area after Lokpha forced us to change our plans. We ended up spending more time on the main circuit taking day trips to the remote Pung Gyen Gompa and the Manaslu base camp amongst other places. After the trek finished, Sonjaya Lama knew that I would be in Kathmandu for another week and told me that I could reach out if I needed help with anything.

I would highly recommend using High Camp Trekking and if I ever do another trek in Nepal, I will absolutely be booking another guide through this agency.

Our group of 9 Aussies travelled to Nepal to do the Annapurna Base Camp Trek. Norsang was our guide and everything was planned out well and done professionally, we were never lost and knew what to expect for each day of hiking. We had a custom route planned to see the places we wanted to go and received recommendations for additional days of our trip including a jungle tour in Chitawan. Norsang was accommodating in communicating for dietary needs and provided valuable cultural insight and experiences. This hike was a one of a kind experience and would recommend going with High Camp Trekking if you plan on hiking Nepal!

Thankyou for the guides and porters at High Camp Trekking for making this trip possible!
