My wife and I booked a package with Elite Trekkers for the Annapurna circuit and I could not recommend this company more. Mahendra was an exceptional guide - both his knowledge and his attention to detail (right down to ensuring we were sat on the side of the jeep for mountain views). I researched the company before we booked and loved their approach and ethos, and they really made the experience for us. Mahendra ensures all of Elite Trekkers' guides have good English and can provide information on local history, culture and fauna, and we felt we gained so much insight from him during our hike when many other hikers were missing out. He also ensured we enjoyed the best views of the mountains through side trips and was always on hand to help. The Annapurna circuit is a once in a lifetime adventure, Elite Trekkers won't disappoint :)

We did the EBC trek through elite Trekkers. We hired a porter-guide through them, as we didn't want to go with a large group.

Mahendra (the head of the company) was very responsive to all my emails, whatsapp messages2, and calls both before and during the travel. He provided us with all the info we needed, and did his best to fulfill all our special demands too. We were also a bit picky with the porter-guide choice (We wanted someone who speaks english at least on a moderate level), which he was very understanding and helpful with. We finally ended up with the perfect guide for our trip: Mingma Gyalje Sherpa.

Mingma is an experienced, very warm harted, cheerful and incredibly helpful guide! We had a great time with him throughout the trek. He brought us to very nice tea houses, showed us around in places and gave us insight into the local culture and history. He was also super flexible to our requests. ("Lets skip this day, and go already to the next village.", "Lets find this time a more luxorious tea house, because we would like to relax more comfortably." etc.)

We visited nepal at a difficult time: A huge flooding has distroyed many roads and villages (Which made accessing the EBC trek very tricky). Also, we had bad luck with the weather both up to and down from Lukla. Mahendra was always ready to help us out in these situations. He was extremely responsive, gave us options and suggestions for how to resolve the tricky situations. He also provided us with other local contacts who helped us out in tough situations. (I was sometimes even emberassed to ask for further help, because we have already asked for so much. But he never let us feel this way. He was always ready to jump in and try to resolve the situation. For this we are tremendously greatful!)

All in all, very reliable and high quality service! You can't go wrong with choosing them for your next Himalayan adventure! Thanks for everything, both to Mahendra and Mingma!

We just completed the Annapurna Circuit with Elite Trekkers, which was absolutely brilliant! We went for the package option with a guide and porter.

Mahendra was a fantastic guide with superb English and knowledge and passion about the mountains, the history and culture of the area — and he really stood out from the other guides saw en route. Mahendra went above and beyond to provide an outstanding service for us — from airport pickup to helping us get extra gear ahead of the trek, to transport and permits, and securing the best rooms (e.g. private bathroom, great views) in the teahouses for us.

I cannot recommend Mahendra and his company enough for anyone looking to go for a trek in Nepal!

With a couple of friends, we decided to take on the Annapurna circuit as well as the Nar Phu Valley. Mahendra was our guide for most of the time and we cannot say enough good things about our experience.

Not only was he a great guide that helped us navigate through Nepali paperwork and roadways but he was also very kind and funny. His knowledge about local Buddhist culture made the trip much more than trekking but also an intellectual experience.

We where initially scared about altitude sickness but our guide made sure that we made the ascent slowly enough to not suffer from it. As a result, none of us got anything more than occasional headaches at the top. He was also kind enough to help us carry some of our bags if we were not feeling well. Elite Trekkers went above and beyond to make our experience as unforgettable and nice as possible.

With Elite Trekkers you have guaranteed success on your Trek to Everest Base Camp. Their guides and porters are very expert, friendly and are 100% concerned that you meet your objectives. Both they and Mahendra, the leader of Elite Trekkers, are very prepared for this activity. I was lucky enough to do the EBC with them this October 2023 and they fulfilled all my dreams.

By hiring Elite Trekkers you are sure that your money is going to the people of Nepal, without intermediaries. You fulfill your dreams and you help them fulfill theirs.

Myself and 11 others decided to do the Annapurna base camp trek. It was a once in a life time experience that I couldn’t recommend more. Both of our guides (mahendra and Suvas) were absolutely exceptional. Despite the difficult and harsh weather, there was not one moment where I felt unsafe. The porters ( a group of young boys from a small village in lukes) that were allocated were an absolute pleasure and incredibly hard working, going beyond their role to help in any way they could (including carrying unwell trekkers on their backs up hills). The views on the trek were heavenly and the company just made it 10 times more enjoyable.

Much love,
Bahu Beli

I had a wonderful experience with Elite Trekkers. Mahendra was great in helping me organize my trip. I told him where I wanted to go and how long and he created the whole itinerary for me and helped me find the right suited guide. He was very quick in responding to all my questions and emails which was very helpful. My guide Indra was great, he looked after me very well and had lots of knowledge about the Annapurna region. Unfortunately half way through our trip I got altitude sickness, but Indra was a great support and was able to suggest another trek that we could do instead of going up higher in elevation. I had an amazing time and I’ll definitely be back!!

(Lyndon (LEV) one of 7 Note) Its in the name “ELITE TREKKERS” do not go anywhere else for your trekking. I would not recommend any other group, and trust me we saw a few groups and how they operated, they did not have a patch on Elite Trekkers. So much so, some groups even started to edge their way towards our group, just because our guide and porters provided more information on a daily basis about the area, and what to expect (amongst other historic and other factual based details), were more attentive to individual needs and tirelessly checked each member of our teams physical and mental welfare. Having been led by and lived with Mahendra for our EBC trek it was clear we were in the hands of a professional. Having both his ears and eyes in all directions to ensure our groups experience was safe. Mahendra is the operations manager of Elite, he has a wealth of knowledge of both Nepal and the treks (not just EBC by the way). Small point, I returned from EBC and while in Katmandu I was sat on a table next to a group of 4 gentlemen, who were getting briefed by what seemed to be the guide. It wasn’t, it was the sales guy whom would be handing over to the guide. Straight away it was clear, the sales guy had no real knowledge of trekking, but was giving advice about the trek. So glad we didn’t have that experience and I so wanted to give the details of Elite, but they left as soon as I could get out the card. All I can say is Elite will send guides to discuss treks, they will have firsthand knowledge of the trek (not third had knowledge). Mahendra met us for a brief before our trek and ensured we had the right equipment, insurance, asked about our general health and any conditions to be aware of. He really understood what was needed.

Now I didn’t find Elite, one of our esteemed group did. The first thing he said was, as soon as I spoke to Elite, their communication was excellent, nothing was too much trouble, it was our trek so he provided a number of options that fit with our requirements, and advised on things not to do, which was very important. Elite just had that customer service others didn’t. We discussed porters and guides and for 7 of us, we settled on 3 porters a porter guide and one guide (Mahendra). Airport transfers on the day to Lukla were dealt with efficiently. We were in very safe company and that never wavered all the time we spent with Mahendra. On route, Mehindra made sure we knew about the local culture, attended a few historic places and learned a bit about everything leading up to Everest. We hit every major point leading up to base camp, and even did Kalapatar the view point. Small note, I was ill that day, collapsed a couple of times, Mehindra made sure I made it back to Namchi and was given a room with private bathroom to recover, he made sure I was looked after and by the next day I was a lot better and carried on and made it to EBC and back. Without his efforts that would not have been possible. Elite are not the most expensive, and are a new company by all accounts, but I would not trek with anyone else. They are safe, secure and look after your wellbeing throughout. I would recommend this Elite to friends and family knowing they will be in safe hands.

A note to myself, I will be trekking with Elite again, I won’t be going with any other group. I want to thank Mahendra and his team for a safe and epic experience and everything you do with Elite goes to rebuilding families and communities, what’s not to like about that?

By the way we did one of many treks, and from what I have heard, you wont find a better company for any of the hundreds of treks from 5000 and below, and even up to 6000+ for Island peak. Quality team.

I undertook Elite Trekker’s Gokyo and EBC hike in mid Dec 2016. I was worried that perhaps by taking advantage of a hiking company it would eliminate the teeth-gritting challenge I had come to the Himalayas for. Elite Trekkers, however, proved to be one of the best decisions that I have ever made, for they catered to my every need and desire, in the way that I desired. My guide, Mahendra, and I became best of friends and every step of the way I was on the forefront of his mind. Out there, after spending a night above 5100m, when my bones were chattering in their sockets from the incessant cold, having a guide, a friend, as attentive as Mahendra proved more comforting and relieving than money is worth. Elite Trekkers demonstrated a service, time and time again, that I found to be extraordinary and outstanding, above all other hiking companies around me. When crossing the precarious and hairy Cho La Pass, Mahendra, my guide, ended out having to guide the guides from other companies, shouting and signalling to them to move away from the crevasses from afar. I felt exceptionally privileged to belong to Elite Trekkers, to have a guide with such experience and wholesome knowledge about every turn and corner, every up and down, such as was shared with me by my guide and good friend Mahendra. I was awakened to some really dodgy companies out there, some guides had next to no idea about their itinerary, had told their clients not to bother bringing warm sleeping bags, provided no itinerary and knew very little about the route. I can assure you, however, with Elite Trekkers you will have the adventure of a lifetime, and will come away feeling as though you had been a part of something really special. Your gear is safe and the porters selected are of extraordinary character despite their humbling backgrounds, and the devastation the Nepal earthquakes caused them and their families. So I would invite you, like me, to take up your rucksack and join Elite Trekkers for an incredible and awakening Himalayan hiking experience, in an honorable attempt to help Nepal recover from its recent earthquake disasters. I tell you, there is nothing quite like that sunset over Everest, witnessed from a frosty Kalapathar summit, the Khumbu Glacier 200m beneath your feet, whilst filling your lungs with the dry and chilly, thin mountain air. The world stands still a moment and everything around you turns golden yellow. If you have ever wanted to feel truly alive, well then... you'd be going to the right place.
