Unbelievable

This park is so vast and we were able to see so many different species of wildlife. Our stay was short and I would like to go back for longer next time!

Trip to Lower Zambezi National Park
May 2020 • Business
I went there for a work trip and it was exciting. While working managed to to view some hippos, Elephants, crocodiles and Baboons. Climbed up the Escarpment which was exciting yet tiring because of that tedious 6 km climb up the mountain peak with the help of Park Rangers. The climb down was equally exciting and less tiring. The views are fantastic and breathtaking, enjoying the wild life and the peaceful sound of the ever flowing Zambezi river.

Boat cruise
Dec. 2019 • Family
The boat cruise experience is just spectacular. It's not like the speed boat experience where you can feel the breeze in your hair. The scenery is one of a kind. Trying it gives each one an experience like no other.

Stayed outside park and went in just once
Oct. 2019 • Friends
There's lots of animals just outside the park in the management zone so its not essential to pay to go in the park, but, we did see our best stuff inside - two full grown males up close, resting after a big feed on buffalo

A warm welcoming safari
Aug. 2019
We only spent half day in this park as part of a game drive from Royal Zambezi Lodge, but it was still the highlight of our trip! We got to see lions with a story (an older male being chased off by a group of younglings and a mother with her cubs feasting on their prey), buffalos, antelopes, plenty of monkeys, elephants everywhere and some interesting birds as well.

Later on, we took another gamedrive in Chobe and it pales in comparison to this one.

Whereas in Chobe (and similar "big parks") you are always a part of "train" of cars and it falls crowded, here you spend most of the drive not seeing another human being besides your group. If you have an experienced guide, he wil show you a lot of interesting things here and take you through many different biomes (surprisingly many on such a small area).

Also worth mentioning is that the groups of animals are smaller and more vary of humans then in the big parks, so you need a good camera or a pair of binoculars. However the most interesting ones still do not care about cars so you can observe a lion or elephant from a couple of meters and experience the thrill of seeing them in their natural habitat up close and personal.

The best
Jan. 2019 • Family
The lower Zambezi is my favorite place to go to. The river the animals the lodges.
My experience has been different each time. In the winter the dryness of the land and animals coming to drink and bath. In the summer the animals strolling along the plains along side the mighty Zambezi. Amazing.
