Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is really 2 stores--one half is a lovely art gallery with many high quality paintings, both traditional and contemporary. The other half is the crafts shop, with quite a nice variety of goods. There is of course some of the usual souvenir fare, as well as offerings that were not made in Uganda (or even in Africa, in a few cases). But there are also many unique, Ugandan arts and crafts that are well worth a visit. For me the collection of ceramics (both functional and decorative) was especially interesting, even if it is hard to bring them home!

Tucked away in an exclusive tree-lined building, and within walking distance to most 5 star hotels such as, Serena, Shareton and Imperial Royale, Maridadi welcomes you with its' inviting entrance, and very creative displays of unimaginable arts and crafts. As a tourist, I was spoiled for choices, and the variety was totally unexpected. Unlike the typical soveigniers one finds in most shops, Maridadi offered a wide range with an exciting twist. From semi-precious stone jewellery and ornaments to natural hand-made body soaps and products, carciature figurines with catchy colours, hand-made ceramics, African clothing as well as table/kitchen accessories, decorative candles, African art pieces and crafts, and the choices went on forever. There is something there for everyone, and I could not be more happier than being able find the perfect gift for all my family members and close friends. The service too is excellent! I highly reccomend Maridadi to anyone local or foreign as you will walk away feeling happy, satisfied and want of more! Thank you Maridadi for a wonderful shopping experience!

I was taking a group of tourists around Kampala, its the one stop place for all your African craft needs. Great art, good prices located in the heart of Kampala.

Best crafts store in Uganda! You can pick up some fantastic gifts here for the family - jewellery, crafts, paintings, bags, etc. The store has a great atmosphere and brilliant customer service. Great authentic African designs and wide array of products available at reasonable prices.

I"m sorry to say that I was disappointed by the selection of crafts. Most seemed to be factory made and found in many shops.

Loved visiting this shop and perusing its crafts. I partially liked the hand painted ceramics. There were unique things here that I haven’t seen at other African markets.

I was staying at Imperial Royal Hotel and just opposite there was a nice craft shop with some wonderful gifts.
Bought a few gifts, definetly a place worth visiting with good prices.
