High Quality Crafts--Friendly Service--Buy Here!
Sep. 2015 • Friends
Local handicrafts are my weakness. I'm so tired of mass produced junk souvenirs. When we arrived at Uganda Crafts, I knew I was in the right place. The baskets were extremely high quality and the prices very reasonable. They will haggle a bit, but what they ask is very reasonable. If you are visiting Kampala, make time to visit this excellent shop!

Crafts are nice. Sometimes a little old. Can get quite annoying at some point because people sometimes are very pushing

Beautiful high quality baskets - wish I could have bought more!!
May 2012 • Business
This little shop tucked under a building on Bombo road carries beautiful colorful woven baskets and other handicrafts. Compared to the baskets behind the National Theater, the quality is far superior and worth the trip. Bring cash - no credit cards. Wish I could have bought the huge baskets to take home - they were magnificent.

best place to shop in kampala!
Just near the center of town, Uganda Crafts is the best place to pick up gifts for friends and family. Since it is certified Fair Trade, you know that your purchases are supporting artisans who are paid a fair price. The crafts in the shop (especially the baskets) are known for their high quality, and there are a number of interesting other items as well. Best of all, prices here are pretty low, especially in comparison to some of the hotel shops! Make sure you take the time to chat with the shopkeepers - they are very friendly.

Best gift shop!
This shop is nestled off Bombo road, so be sure to look for the sign. I like it because they support local artisans and focus on creating opportunities for disabled and disadvantaged artisans. You actually know that you are making a difference when you buy from them. Make sure to drop by on Friday morning, artisans sit outside the shop to finish their baskets that they sell to the shop. What a sight to see these women with vibrant and colorful baskets on their laps, talking and weaving away.
