If you ecxpect anything like Tanzania, Kenya or the alike, you will be disapointed (most animals have been poched during the years and more or less no guards around to protect those animals still there.. There are hHeards on elephants and other mamalas. Nice birds. Some hippos. Lions are around, but very very hard to come by. Infranstructere leaves ALOT... More

We travelled 5 hours from Kano State to Bauchi State and then another 1 hour to Bauchi State to Yankari. Don't get excited when you see the gate because you have to travel 42 km more before where you will lodge. Check your fuel level and be sure you have enough to come back because there is almost nothing available... More

Yankari National Park has been around since 1954. The animals much longer than that. And the natural hot springs have always been there. When people started to figure out that these natural things existed, they "tamed" the place so people could come. I visited in 1992 and saw lions, elephants and many other animals. This time we saw one hippo,... More

Yankari is a place that will surely leave you in awe! Breathtaking natural spring with water at around body temperature all year through, which is known for its healing powers. You and your family will definitely enjoy the safari where you will see a variety of wild animals in their natural habitat. Elephants, Hippos and Lions are some of the... More

I wanted a place to relax. I don't want any disturbance, except from the baboons and elephant noise. I wanted to lay flat in a pool of natural warm spring. I got all these plus more at Yankari National Park. I spent a week. Had baboons (attack) entered my room once and broke my bottle of wine (very painful but... More

But this time it was my own, personal experience and a wonderful one of these parks. it is really a paradise on earth! there are a lot of animals: bamboons, elephants, lions and many of them also birds and plants. My parents use to take me there in the late 80's to early 90's.. I remember the bamboons and the Lions.. I remembered being warned not toe feed the bamboos and also not swimming with ring in one's finger. My question for anyone who has been there recently: Do they still have Lions? Thanks. Btw, the date I selected( Feb... More
