Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I did the Safari part to see Leopard and Cheetahs. Dusternbrook is located about 40 KM from the city Windhoek. About 15 KM is dirt road and the scenery is enjoyable. You pass through dry rivers before reaching Dusternbrook. Once you reach there, you will be put on a safari vehicle with other groups and start the tour seeing leopard. We were informed by the guide that leopards are unpredictable and you can not be too close to them. But, from a distance the guide was throwing meat and the leopard was interested on the meat than us. It is not that scary to be close to leopard in an open vehicle. But, you have to be careful not to have a camera with flashes and not disturb the leopard that could make him nervous. The next tour was visiting two Cheetahs. The cheetahs are so friendly and we even touched them. The guide said their behavior is friendly and don't become aggressive unless they are attacked. Therefore, I encourage all to visit Dusternbrook if you happen to be in Windhoek.

This is an excellent day trip from Windhoek, for folks would like to see cheetahs and leopards up close. The feedings provide an opportunity to photograph these cats w/o a fence separating you from your subjects.

Up close feeding was good. The Cheetahs were relatively tame and in good condition. But Never trust a leopard, especially up close. Resort old, an hours drive out of Windhoek. Good afternoon, good value

Here the reaction on a valid cancelation of a really unexpected event in my life:
The hotel did not answer on the cancelation in which I asked how to proceed. After trying again:
There is no response, as you only paid deposit which you loose in anyway. Unexpected pregnancy does not exist in modern medicine and it would be in anyway no reason. All deposit are non refundable as we had been already active for you.kind regards Johann Vaatz this answer and behavior of a "service organization" is not acceptable. That we loose deposit is clear and written in the order but what about a valid cancelation form for the insurance company for example? We will sort this hotel out for all upcoming trips to Namibia

The 1st time I visited was for 2 days, weekend visit staying at one of the two available Hippo Charlets. Very primitive but it was ok, was prepared to be without luxuries. Eating at the restaurant was very disappointed, the food was average but expensive for what you pay for. Even the breakfast the Sunday morning was nothing special. Don’t expect too much from the service you get at Dustenbrook

This was our first stop after flying from Australia and was most enjoyable.
We got to see cheetahs and a leopard up close which was a tad confronting, but we survived and made it back to very comfortable accomodation, a very nice game (Oryx) meal and interesting conversation.
The next morning after a good nights sleep, and a solid breakfast we enjoyed the elevated views of the wildlife in the riverbed.
We enjoyed our stay.

We booked the Cats Unlimited tour which was for 1.5 hours. The rickety safari jeep pulled up 15 minutes late. My husband sat beside the driver and the door was basically non functioning, hard to open and hard to close. We were taken to an enclosure where 2 cheetahs were tossed raw meat. Then we were in another enclosure where there were 2 leopards also thrown meat. 45 minutes later we were back. Four cats does not make it a cats unlimited tour.

We had a few days here and loved every minute. We could have stayed longer if we had had time available. Its cut off and in the middle of the bush with an abundance of wildlife and amazing birdlife. The food is good and everyone sits together and shares conversation. The rooms are all interesting and have a different feel and theme. At times is can be eccentric and a little disorganised but it felt part of its nature and we did enjoy our time there immensely. The walks are good and the horse riding. We found porcupine quills on our ride and could collect them to bring back. We visited the big cats which were beautiful and swam in the pool. Would recommend and hopefully we will be back on our next trip. Thank you.
