Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The Christuskirche is a beautiful and iconic landmark in Windhoek. It is easy to find and has free and clean parking. The church is also very central to other tourist attractions, so you can easily walk to other places from here. However, be vigilant during your visit, as there were some persistent people, possibly scammers, trying to bother tourists in the vicinity. If you are polite and firm, they will usually leave you alone. Despite this minor inconvenience, the Christuskirche is definitely worth a visit.

Quite small but beautiful church that you should definitely visit when you are in Windhoek. There is a bit of traffic around it, but there are times in Windhoek when there is less traffic - you should take advantage of those times. Also nice with a bit of greenery around it.

This is probably the best known landmark in Windhoek. It's a nice looking church in the middle of a roundabout. You can park next to the church to visit, or just cross the roundabout and walk there.

A very Germanic church close to the Namibian parliament and the museum area of Windhoek. A group of street peddlers sell stuff around the church initially they can be quite intimidating but actually they are quite pleasant and friendly once you start talking with them. The church makes for pleasant photos and the parliament gardens provide a pleasant backdrop. The church can be found at the junction of Robert Mugabe Avenue and Fidel Castro Ruz Street.

Centre of windhoek nearby indepence avenue. From the outside is more beautiful, because inside it is rather boring.

A nice quiet place to visit. The exterior of the church as some interesting architectural features. The inside is more modern and less interesting. Check the stained glass windows.

My grandfather helped to build the Christus Kirche in Windhoek, when I was still a twinkle in my father's eye. 64 Years ago I was baptised in this church. 43 Years ago I got married in this beautiful church. Proudly it still stands on a hill overlooking the centre of town.

The build started in 1907, as the church is build on a hill, the church is visible from a long distance.
The church looks (from outside) well maintained (renovated between 1967-72), not able to visit inside.

A historical site built during the German rule of Namibia, with beautiful stained glass windows and a lovely church to just take some time out to pause and reflect. It's a church that is still operational and they have services on Sunday- but only in German! That aside, lovely part of history.

The church itself is lovely and historic but its locked so what can you say. The signs are not in English so if the church is open at some point for visitors no one would know. Take some pictures and move on.
