Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We made with Wild Dog Safaris the 10 Day Family Adventure Tour in July 2019 with Marcus and Steve.
It was fantastic and a great fun for kids and adults! The daily tours were just right - not too long for the children. We saw absolute amazing places and many many animals. Marcus and Steve were perfect guides. Thank you so much for these great holidays in Namibia!

Can't praise Wild Dog Safaris and in particular Liza Kotze enough! I'd originally booked for me and my partner to do a 3 day Etosha trip in 2017, I booked two years in advance and on the way to Africa our flight was cancelled in Zurich and delayed by 10 hours, meaning by the time we got to Namibia our safari would have left. To say we were devastated was an understatement but the guys at Wild Dogs booked us onto the 9 day delta trip in 2019 (the next time we would be able to travel).
The trip was so well organised, the camps lovely and guides Gabriel and Jobi very friendly, knowledgeable and wow could Jobi cook! (I'm a gluten free vegan and I still dream about the food he cooked for me!)
The tents are very spacious and comfortable. If you are thinking of going just do it, you wont regret it!

I was the only person booked but they did not cancel - instead I had an amazing private tour. Learnt history, ate amazing BBQ and some worms (!) and felt like in only a half day I had a much better appreciation of this city and its people.

Food, excellent, guides are absolutely wonderful, generous and knowledgeable. Comfy, reliable tents and chairs and vehicle. Most of all, they make sure you see as many animals as possible with the utmost respect to the animals safety.

Botswana and Namibie left me awestruck! Wonderful camping, climbed dunes, saw spectacular sunsets and sunrises, spotted loads of wildlife on our game drives (lion, hyena and cheetah cubs), saw rock carvings, amazing ever changing deserts and canyons.
I want to thank our guide and assistant from wild dog in particular. They cared for the group by cooking glorious food and providing us with help and guidance whenever we needed. They really care about this land and as a tourist you are in good hands by learning from them how fragile and beautiful nature is. Keep up the good work!

Wild dogs - can you explain why you have not refunded so many clients cancelations of thousands of dollars due to COVID 19? It’s not legal or acceptable anywhere in the world.
Can we have our $7000 dollars back for the Safari we booked please wild dogs? You are being dirty dogs!

Hi there, we have taken a massive hit with the virus. Unlike other countries, we have no support from our government and we experience some very difficult times. Having said that, we expect our borders to be open again in September and to resume safaris around this time. We just ask for your patience to allow us to work through this. We recognise that refunds need to be made and we will do this, but we just need a bit more time.

I traveled alone on a wild dog safari trip to Namibia and had a wonderful time. I would highly recommend it
Hello. Id like to see the dessert. Is there any tour to join starting on 6 to 8 of August for one person? My schedule is flexible.

Can you arrange a day trip to Namibi Desert. All I want to do is just to see the desert. I know it is 5 hours drive and I really don't have a great deal of time there, but I want to do it. If you can't, is there anybody for me to help finding a driver?

Hi Rosa Switzerland. Loved reading your review. We will be taking the same trip in September. I was wondering if you could give me some feed back on the optional activities that can be done along the way. Did you do any? Do you remember the approximate costs of any of these. We are very similar age, so we are glad to hear that you enjoyed the trip and the mix of the group.

You're most welcome! I don't like flying either - even though I spent an unconscionable amount of my time doing it!! - but the Vic Falls companies are good and safe; our pilot was an air force officer. Wild Dogs will take you to an agency they use run by a very loud, energetic woman who will book the trip for you. It's very easy. Oh, by the way, when we got to Vic Falls - and the guides didn't know this either, so hadn't been able to warn us; it was a fairly recent thing - there was NO cash anywhere in town. Everything had to be paid for by card, from the excursions to a cup of coffee. Apparently, when Mugabe was finally forced out his pals dashed to the banks and removed all their ill-gotten gains before their assets could be frozen. Result - no paper money for anyone, anywhere. They may have corrected the situation now, but it's something to bear in mind.
If the optional game drive is the one in the Kalahari, at the first stop, then yes, we did. That was the one on which we saw meerkats! It was also the one where a storm broke loose as we were driving back to camp, and since we were in the two front seats we took all the sand, rain and grit in the face. :) Also saw lots of giraffe on that one. And the Etosha game drives are phenomenal, we saw an incredible amount of animals and birds (I love birds!) I did skip one evening one because I was tired; instead I went down to the water-hole at Okakuejo and watched elephant, rhino, kudu and giraffe coming to drink with a background of the most stunning sunset you can imagine. Magic.

Hi There,
Thanks for the information and good to read about them. For the camping option is it a case that they bring their own tents? At nearly 150 Euro per day I though it would be glamping type camping at the camp sites en route. Sounds now, more like a case of roll out the tents each evening and roll up each morning while sleeping on hard ground. Is this the type of camping option they give at that price.
Cheers,
Pat

Hello,
I am looking at the 7 Day Southern Swing Camping Tour. I appreciate that because of the long distances covered, a lot of time will be spent in the vehicle, but when you reach a destination, how much opportunity is there to be more active and walk around? (Or is the vast majority of time spent in the vehicle?) Thanks!

We did a self drive holiday but from what I saw of some Wild Dog groups you would be spending a lot of time in the vehicle. They seem to try to fit a lot in.
