Quick game drive outside the city

It took us an hour to drive around the park. We saw some giraffes, hartebeest, baboons, and birds. It's a good drive with a small car.

This reserve is not far out of Windhoek and worth a visit. The staff have tried really hard to modernize the accommodation and we had a great salad meal there. we were impressed!

My Gorgeous Wife and I had over-indulged and were missing the gym so decided we needed to stretch our legs, burn off some calories and hopefully see some wildlife on the way. We chose Daan Viljoen because it was just 20 minutes from town and the brochure said there was a good 9km walk with the promise of seeing some... More

Twice in a short period of time I had the pleasure to drop tourists at this popular and yet sometimes overlooked venue. Once you enter the gates of Daan Viljoen Nature Reserve you already have the option to get off the main road and drive around on gravel having a sighseingg tour even before booking in at this wonderful Reserve.... What a relaxing experience! Great food and beautiful chalets! The most popular wedding venue in Windhoek of course! They also have hiking trails for those who would like to work up a sweat! Beautiful and not that far from the capital!

Their hiking trails are very nice, challenging and scenery. Great pool and Bar area. The restaurant is a bit too expensive compared to the quality of their food. Great camping sites, and caters to all types of campers. Great family day outing spot and also a nice place to have a romantic date. They have a driving trail where you... More

We always visit Daan Viljoen when we have family/friends visiting from overseas. It's conveniently located a mere 20 km out of town and offers a short game viewing route and a hiking trail. You won't find the big five, but you are likely to see a good variety of game. We usually take a picknick lunch and stop at one... More

Visited Daan Viljoen nature reserve in July with my wife. Situated about 20km to the West of Windhoek, clearly sign posted from the City centre and one straight road through. Upon arrival you are met at the gates by a member of staff who takes your details and hands you a letter with the park rules and regulations. You then... More
