Awesome nature and breathtaking view from the top of the dunes

One need to go there early in the morning or when the sun sets. Otherwise it's gonna be too hot, even in winter. Jeeps taking you right into the dunes, if you don't have an own 4x4

we went on the tour organized by the boat we were on. the desert is VERY different and climbing dune 7 quiet a thrill. the moon landscape was also very interesting. My only query would be to go in aircond. It gets very hot as you can imagine and it is quite a long drive seeing a lot of sand... More

Nothing much to see and offer, distances between sight of interest are far. Many hours on the bumpy and dusty road. Worth your while to make a stop are Cape Cross to see the colony of seal and Swakopmund for adventure activites. While at Swakopmund make sure you do the activity kayaking with seals in pelican Point.

In the Namib Desert you can do a lot of activities. You can go sand-surfing, book a desert-tour (Living Desert Adventures), ride on camels (Swakopmund) or ride a quad-bike. You will love all these adventures things.

Welcome to the Namib desert near Walvis Bay, Namibia. The Namib runs into the Atlantic Ocean, so our desert trip was beside the Atlantic Ocean. Unique and great trip. I suspect many guides can take you on this nature tour. We took our nature tour to some amazing and remote places like a 20,000 acre salt mining farm and a... More

Sensational desert with landscapes out of this world. Drive through or climb a dune, photos to be taken everywhere.

You have to visit Namib desert for sure. So many different landscapes. The most impressive are the dunes that early in the morning have a great orange colour. The sand is so so thin like make up powder. Once in a lifetime experience

I have seen many stunning photographs of 'Dooievlei' and the dunes, but nothing can compare to being here! It is breathtakingly beautiful... If you have children - it is a must visit - the biggest play pit they will ever have. My son was covered from head to toe in red dust and a huge smile when we left, you... More

We spent lots of time driving through Namibia. The Namib desert was our favorite part. There are stunning mesas and rocky landscapes that remind me if the American southwest. The sunset views were especially nice.
