Perched high above Port Louis itself, this old British fort is a great place for views, although there's not really much to see in the fort itself. But for views of Thumb Mountain, the racecourse and Port Louis itself it's well worth the short detour.

By itself the citadel is not large or interesting but for a few cannons. Location is the only point of interest as it overlooks the harbour.

This is one the most overrated places in mauritius. If you are visiting mauritius for relaxing, having fun along side beaches, scenic views of sea then then don't waste your time driving though the port louis city and reaching this place. If you are keen on seeing port louis view (which I dont understand, why would any one want that),... More

This is a small fort, located on a hill in Port Louis. There's nothing much to see as it is a big parade ground with some old cannons at one end. There is no entry fee though. One can climb to the top of the fort and some great views of the city greet you. The blue of the ocean... More

A small fort on a top of a small hill. Cute, with some charm but hardly worth the visit if your trips included visits to European forts and citadels. The traffic and parking time is not really worth the site. In my view use the hour spent here and use it for the Botanical Garden instead.

The Fort in itself is rather unremarkable: rather small with few cannons in it. However you can get a wonderful view of Port Louis with the port in front of you and the residential houses on the side. The attraction is also free so definitely worth the stop.
