If you love horse racing, it is a must you go as it is only horse track in the island. You have plenty of food stores but beware, secure your wallet or smartphone and jewelries as pick-pockets are common.

Definitely have to go on a Saturday but make sure it is not one of those "special" run or important race otherwise the place is really too packed. It's fun to see the "behind the scenes" of the tracks because when watching on TV you...More

We had a look at the racecourse on a recent visit to Port Louis, Mauritius. There was no racing that day, so not much to see but I was still surprised that horseracing would be so popular in a remote island in the Indian Ocean.

As far as I am aware race days are every Saturday. If the weather is hot make sure you go in the VIP as there is virtually no shade in the middle of the course(plus you are really well looked after by Jacques and the team).
