Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What a wonderful and unexpected surprise in Nouakchott! Isabel, the owner/curator, is a joy to speak with and she takes much pride in her collection of art from throughout the region. Paintings, music, books, jewelry, masks, she has a little bit of everything. Unfortunately, we were not there on a Saturday to experience the market that she hosts. It sounds like an amazing experience.

This is THE art gallery of Nouakchott. There are regular exhibitions of different kind of artist, specially from Mauritania or Sahel. Some Europeans or even from other continents can show what they better produce.

What a find! There was a farmer's market on the Saturday i was there. A wonderful, varied selection of silver- and nickel-decorated ebony boxes, jewelry, clothing, food products, and unique t-shirts. Do not miss this when in Nouakchott.

I love the art gallery and highly recommend it if you are looking for some beautiful pieces for your home, office or as gifts. The display is always changing.
But the Saturday organic market is a life saver if you live in Nouakchott. Good quality vegetables and chicken. Also people selling jams and preserves from local produce. Many handmade soaps, jewelry, cloth items for sale.

It looks normal scene from outside. Once you entered the place, it was warm and pleasant. The gallery is something unique and perhaps interesting to do if you visit or live in Nouakchott. Luckily, they have market at the backyard, selling local stuffs from food to handicrafts.
The owner of the gallery is a French couple who lives here for 16 years. Friendly owner and they have couple of cute cat too.

Isabel, the owner / artist heading the Galerie is doing tremendous work to support local artists and she exhibits their work for sale to the small expat community in Nouakchott. I was fortunate to have acquired some beautiful artwork which have found a place in my home. I lived and worked for 4 years in Nouakchott from 2014 to 2018 and got to know Isabel and her team on a personal level. Support Galerie Zeinart...support Mauritanian and West African artists.

This gallery has a great choice of handicrafts, both from Mauritania and neighboring countries (Mali, Cote d'Ivoire, Senegal...), artfully chosen, of very high quality and yet very reasonably priced.

An excellent place where the owner, an artist and art ‘connaisseuse’ herself, has selected original and precious artefacts and jewelry from Mauritania. She is welcoming and friendly. A super sport to visit!
