Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

As mentioned in a previous review, the photo shown here is not of the Brewery. This review is for the large beer hall attached to the brewery factory. IT IS VERY SIMPLE but anyone with any sense of adventure or having spent time in addis will appreciate the very authentic atmosphere found here. Metal tables and chairs....full of lively locals....all enjoying 2 types of St. George beer - regular and the amber. Pricing is ridiculously low....8 birr (less than $.50) for the more expensive amber. This is certainly a low frills establishment where you stand in line to buy tickets for the beer, find yourself a seat in the HUGE warehouse-like atmosphere and then flag down a lab coat wearing server who will exchange your ticket for a nice cold beer. I've never touched the cooked food here but there is ample kolo if you need to snack with your brew. It's a great place to meet friends if you are up for the rustic atmosphere. The bathrooms are an adventure in themselves. It's a DIVE but we love it and will go back time and time again while we live here in Addis.

This St. George Brewery is just at a place called Mexico square North west of Addis ababa. it is the first beer factory in Ethiopia next to the home made beer TELLA is made since ncient times in Ethiopia.
the Picture some one posted here is a St. George cathedral in the center of addis. nothing todo with the brewery. Please change the Church photo from the beer factory,,,
Actually the beer factory is not allowed to visit as tourists visit Harar beer Factory in East Ethiopia.
The beer is nothing 3.5% alchohol- it is water for me- suitable for non alchoholic-lol

A hopping place and great if you just want ridiculously cheap cold beer and injera. It's quite expansive and was full of people, however the woman with me was the only one in the place. Didn't see any tourists, which had to be a good sign!

Best beer in Addis, here on tap with home cooked local food.
You buy your meat fresh from the carcas, take it to the kitchen, they fry/cook it and serve it with injera and dips.
Mostly men, but a few woman as well. Huge area and packed with locals having beer and food.
Very well organised and friendly waiters. English can be a problem.
We recommend this establishment if you want to get away from the tourist traps.

Enjoyed my visit to the beer hall of St. Georges brewery, very friendly Ethiopians, few tourists and great draft beer!
