this lions as i heard from the guide unique to the world available only in ethiopia good to visit they say it is black lion but the place isn't that much of a zoo i think it is old zoo

No information about the closure on the internet, hence this would be the second best place to post about it. Hope they will find the lions back sooner than later to reopen the place.

If you are interested of animals this is a place to see the Ethopian Black Maned Lion. The Zoo is not very nice as a place for the animals but it is nice to see these beautiful animals!

The Lion park of Addis is the only lively lion home and one can see those lions and lioness in a single Lion Zoo at Sidist Kilo .Those who are interested in Safari tours can visit this Zoo by near distance. Not only the lions...More

Bummer, it's closed for remodeling or maintenance until April, I am told. I do hope this will bring larger environments than I hear they have but I'm so disappointed I won't get to go.

Close this place down! You can see the distress in these beautiful animals kept in small cages for the amusement of locals. Anyone who enjoys this kind of attraction should be ashamed of themselves.

This place has several lions in captivity. Sad for the lions. But, got to see the African lion...huge mane and all. Much much bigger than Asian lions. Visited in 2016. Was closed in Jan 2017 for renovation. Will open in April - May 2017 they...More

These Abyssinian lions have darker manes and their body size is also said to be different (i.e. smaller). There are also other animals in the zoo including kudu, tortoise... I recommend this zoo for those interested in details e,g, the unique features of the Abyssinian...More

If you like to see a black lion, this is the place. Very accessible. Do not forget to get av fresh fruit drink outside the gate. There you can also get an etiopian daily paper to read
