Outlying only 32km from the capital, Lake Chivero is one of the best places in Zimbabwe to spot white rhinos in the wild. The park comprises high-veld woodland and is centred around the scenic lake and rocky outcrops reminiscent of Matobo National Park.

The lake is polluted by sewage efluent from Harare and Chitungwiza. Native bream and the Tiger Fish (a once favourate sport fish for anglers) have gone extinct. Cattle often seen garazing in the park. Path to bushman paintings needs repair.

See Giraffe, Rhino, Zebra, Impala, Ostrich, Kudu, Eland - up close and personal - set in the beautiful African indigenous woodland. Only draw back is the ablutions which are in need of urgent attention.

The lake has different spots to choose. Other areas have privacy, on the other side people will be playing on the sand adjacent to the lake and have braai stands. Good for parties.
