Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This former palace has been renovated to show how it would have looked when it was still a grand family home - it's also a cultural centre, and there were people rehearsing for a poetry and theatre performance as we visited. We went with a guide who really brought it to life, showing which would have been guest quarters and which the family quarters, as well as talking us through the traditions. Without that, there's very limited information so you wouldn't necessarily get the full impact - even the doorway is easy to miss if you don't know what you're looking for. Worth a short visit if you do have a good guide though.

The beauty is awe inspiring
Delicate and intricate, the filigree is to be seen to be believed. Combined with heavy ornate wood the mosaics and marble too

This is the home of the Agence Sauvegarde de la Medina. It's worth the visit as the interiors and the stucco work is beautiful. Apparently you can get information about the medina from the people working there as well, however, we didn't make use of it as it was our last stop in visiting the medina.

Almost as beautiful as similar houses in morocco. Free to enter. When open. Push the door open of the backroom: the most prestigious one.

We were fortunate just to make it before the door was shut (a common experience in Tunis where opening hours for some buildings which are not museums seems to be variable). The interriow was stunning with some lovely tiled courtyards.

The Lasram family of the aristocracy of Tunis, descended from a Yemeni tribe based in Kairouan. It gathers wealthy landowners constituting a quasi-hereditary dynasty of the Pen of Ministers in the second half of the eighteenth century.
One of them, Lasram Hamouda, was a wealthy landowner and khodja of Zouaoua
