Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We just finished our second trip to see the greatest migration of wildebeest take place in Northern Serengeti with the Wild Source and our trusted friend and guide, Fadhil Magoye. This annual event is unlike any book, picture or video can capture. The sounds, the smells, the frenzy, the sheer numbers are amazing to see.

Watching the wild e beasts cross the Mara river was truly an unforgettable experience. It bought in a rush of adrenaline and tears of joy. We were lucky to witness a total of 8 crossings in the two days we spent here. One of them was a group of over 100,000 of them crossing the river. The planning and precision with which they do it is mind boggling. It is a tough drive to get here but once you see the river crossing on the Mara river, it is all more than worth it.

just close to kenya, you get to witness the great migration as the wildebeests cross the mara river in thousands and if you get lucky unlike me, you can watch crocodiles eat one.

This is a definite must do if you are able to see it. You may have to be patient, but it is worth the wait.

You cannot put down in words the experience of seeing thousands of wildebeasts frantically crossing the Mara river with the crocs and vultures all gathering to take part in the event. From their thundering down the steep bank and jumping down into the river, to their swimming and splashing as they race across the river to ty to avoid the crocodiles and then scramble up the opposite bank and gallop off to finally slow down and return to grazing.

Be prepared to wait and then blown away with the thousands crossing. The wildebeest cross on their schedule, not yours so patience is key. The first day we were there for an hour and they started crossing. The next day, we waited for 4 hours before the thousands that had gathered suddenly decided to cross at two different points not far from each other. The guides driving the vehicles get a little crazy jostling for viewpoints.
Bring good binoculars 8x42 minimum. You'll want something quite a bit more powerful than a 300mm telephoto lens (600+ if you want close ups).

We didn't see any crocs waiting to feed, they were down river and looked like they had a feast the day before, but we did see them along with giraffe, elephants and a leopard that was stalking some impala.
