This well preserved church is beautiful from the outside. We wanted to go inside to explore a bit more. We were told that the interior is only open during church services. Good luck.

The church is a roman catholic, gothic style, cathedral in front of the harbour. Nice architecture, magnificient building, famous for the stained-glass windows (better view in the afternoon) and the art work. On, Sundays, during the service, you can hear the singing. If you want to book a guide tour, make sure that it will be early in the morning in order to avoid the crowd. It worths a visit!

Services in Swahili and English, so that every Catholic can find what he or she is looking for. Directly at the ferry port, so that you can watch the hustle and bustle of the merchants around the departing and arriving passengers.

In a city which has few cultural sites for tourists, this is worth a visit. There are frequent services and singing, especially on Sundays and holidays.

Went for a walk around Dar and found the Cathedral to be a nice place to enjoy. The security guards were attentive and nice. The architecture and stain glass was so pretty to admire.

It is the main Catholic Church in Dar es Salaam and most Government leaders who share the same faith perform their prayers in this Church which is opposite Zanzibar Ferry Boats Terminal. It was built by the German around 1897 and completed in 1902 in Gothic style architecture.

Visited here with friends and sometimes solo and it's a wonderful place to view the ocean as well as for mass gathering for people to pray.
You will experience the sea breeze, the skyscrapers along the road and you might enjoy the sunset cast with the skyscraper.

Now,
This cathedral, the architectural design beat me-1000%!
It stand tall, elegant, full of color-i was amazed! Its not as big as Uganda's cathedral, but maaaaan, its sooo beautiful!
And the Shrine for Mother Mary....beautified to the 9,i have not seen anything like that in East Africa!! Any Catholic would be in total bliss!! Great place for reflection!!
There was the English mass going on when we visited, but i felt a bit out of place, like an intruder(seing as we were just touring)!!
I decided not to go in or even at the entrance(intrusion),
And stood outside, and continued admiring the church, while people were singing inside!!

And interesting spot to take one or two pictures in Dar, overall not stunning but if you like arquitecture drop by for a quick look, but only if you are staying close to this cathedral i would not advise making more then a 20min taxi ride to see it.
