Nice escape from the city. Can be very overcrowded at weekends and not always super clean. Staff on island don't seem to enforce the marine park regulations except for collecting fees. Food available and is good and reasonably priced.

Awesome place for a fun pack away from the mainland. Surrounding water clean enough for swimming and the grilled fish on the island is simply awesome. Perfect for a getaway picnic and outdoor fun day. And yeah, your loaded ice box is Allowed!!!

You can get very good fish/ lobster in the island. If you are going to the island during low tide, you have to cross a dirty piece of land to get the boat. It's a negative point. The other one is 10$ for marine reserve, but bio - diversity is not that good. Otherwise it has a nice beach, a... More

We went to this island for 1 day, and it was really good! You can go there by boat from several hotels or private companies along the coast road (Whitesand Hotel for example). You pay about 25000 for a return ticket with a boat, and as a Non-Tanzanian you pay a fee of 26500 when you arrive at the island... More

A 20 mins boat ride away from Mbezi Beach and you have a tropical island that can be walked around in 1 hour, with food and drinks available. Watch out for the hawkers and rip off Banda charges. Kids loved the beach and sea experience

Accessible with boat from beach just north of White Sands (Mbezi Beach). Awesome paradise island with nice beach. Todays catch (fish) is available at the island. Worth a visit :) If you are staying at Masaki, Bongoyo is easier to access (from slipway).

I found it quite refreshing to sail away to this private island 30 minutes or so depending on the waves/currents. There's sea food being sold and cold drinks. However your also allowed to carry your own picnic basket. There's security around the clock so your safe and able to explore the island which doesn't fall short of perfect spots to... More

This island is so relaxed. You have to pay an entrance fee (22k tnz shilling). Just bring your towels and snorkling gear. There are some chairs but in bad shape. You can have a basic lunch there. Check out the baobabs in the forest!
