After we had a long trip, finally we decide to stop at slipway for some little shopping for ourselves and buying gift for our family and friends. It's a place to make a beautiful memories and we meet friends there so, in one word we can say we enjoyed a lot. Thanks everyone there

Given the chaotic nature of Dar es Salaam, this place is a nice respite. The restaurants serve good food. There is a verity of shops. The views are lovely.

The Slipway Shops are a great way to ease into shopping for gifts if you don't know how to haggle, or want more practice before Kariakoo street markets. Lovely shops, great restaurants and a mix of storefronts and organized street vendors make this a reassuring go to when you're new to Dar Es Salaam.

Chasing sunsets in Dar Es Salaam City

Looking for a perfect sunset spot.

Slipway Shopping Center is a place to be.

It is easily accessible by Bajaj if you stay a distance from oyster bay. Cause traffic jams in Dar are so normal...

Watch sunsets by the beach front..

Sun down on a cocktail, wine glass, beer, or food.
As the sun goes down by Oyster bay.

Sunsets are better watched drunk or tipsy.

Don't expect a shopping mall, is a small shopping center by the sea, at the expensive area of Msasani Peninsula. The craft market is intersting and there shops where you can buy cheap souvenirs and more expensive shops, where you can buy jewels with the famous tanazanite stone! There are also coffees and restaurants where you can sit and enjoy the sea view. It is ideal for spending a morning by the sea, buyins souvenirs for your friends, that's all!

Slipway is where expats go for a meal. There is a small market area away from the shops and restaurants where you can do some bargaining for souvenirs as the prices are inflated knowing you are a tourist. There are several places where you can enjoy a meal, travel agent, handmade local items.... easily spend the day there and relax. Was not crowded on the Saturday we visited there.

The Slipway Shopping Center is a good place for lunch or dinner and a spot of shopping in Dar es Salaam. There are shops selling good quality crafts such as hand-made bags, clothes and shoes, as well as a jewelry shop selling Tanzanite, the beautiful purple precious stone which occurs only in Tanzania.

Enjoy lunch or dinner in one of a few restaurants that overlook the sea, in a pleasant, easy-going setting.
