After emerging from the maze of the Medina it is peacefull to sit here in the park or choose from the many cafeterias around it. The mosque has a pink minaret, a small Souk Babouches, slipper market is just beside it. Buying without a hassle...More

The center of the town is nice, but not much to do. You can see everything in less than 2 hours. Be careful of pickpockets.

I've been here a few times and this always feels like a gateway to go pick an adventure. You can go to the water form here, you can go to the madina. You can sit and people watch (locals and tourists). There is such hustle...More

Big opensquare with cafes and more room than in the narrow streets of the soccos. Good place to rest your feet.

This was our second time being there and if it's possible, it was more frenetic than the first. This large traffic circle is a destination because of location but really, most of what you see is pretty tired looking. The pace of those vying your...More

Place du gand 9 Avril 1947 is a nice place where you can overlook the ocean to Spain and every Friday there are traditional bazaars on the square.

Still referred to locally as the Grand Socco (Souk/market) it clearly hasn't been a market for some time. Now a public square but not a place to sit and relax, with the traffic going around and people accosting you.

The Grand Socco features in a lot of tourist pictures of Tangier, so is a place which you must see. There are some vendors selling food and goods at night. I like the architecture surrounding the place, esp the Cinema Rif, and the entrance leading...More

This is a very bustling area, full of life, with markets, fruit sellers, stalls and a good spot to people watch. It's not all that clean, but it's a good place to absorb Tangier life.
